The Daughters of Khaine are getting a new Battletome for Age of Sigmar. Plus new unit, terrain, and battle boxes!

Get ready for more moving and shaking it the Mortal Realms. The Daughters of Khaine on are the warpath and are slated for a new Battletome. But that’s not all they are getting. There’s a fancy new unit of killers in their ranks. Plus they now have a new shrine to drop on the tabletop. But to top things off they are also getting battle boxes to make it even easier to dive into the army.

With the Hour of Ruin upon us, there’s suddenly so many more Skaven that need slaughtering in the Mortal Realms. Even the followers of the God of Murder may need reinforcements, so the Daughters of Khaine are bringing in the elite Blood Hags, with a new battletome in tow.

The Battletome itself promises all the standard goodies you’d expect from a Battletome. Lore, artwork, warscrolls, battletraits, and all the other rules you’ll need to play the army. This one is a must buy for any DoK players out there. That much is obvious. However, it’s the other stuff on deck that I’m more interested in.

The Blood Hags are a new unit joining the fray. They come standard with two-pronged valthrai polearms and also have gnarly ki’raich blades used for throwing into the enemy. They seem like a multi-purpose threat for sure. On top of those weapons, you can see from the models that they are more armored as well. I’m wondering if that’s going to translate into a better base save than their other murder-lust filled sisters.

Honestly, they look like ninjas in armor to me. I think from a hobby standpoint this unit is going to offer up some really interesting painting options for the DoK army. I can’t wait to see what the community does with this unit.

In addition to the Blood Hags, we also have the new Shrine of Dark Tribute. This is what the Blood Hags protect and maintain. So you know it’s going to be super useful on the tabletop.

I like the design of this one. The weird orb in the middle is very interesting. I also like the design nods to Cauldron of Blood/Bloodwrack Shrine. The DoK love their staircases apparently.

In game terms, we don’t know much beyond the description for this one.

This extravagant altar is a defiant symbol of Khainite superiority, and can whip nearby allies into a blood-fuelled frenzy that empowers Wizards and Priests beseeching their goddess for magical might.

I’m curious to know if this fixed-looking terrain feature is just as or more potent than the Cauldrons of Blood. It would make sense that whatever aura is coming off this fixed feature would be larger…but I guess we’ll find out soon.

Daughters of Khaine Battle Boxes

If you’re looking to jump into the DoK army, there’s a few battle boxes coming your way. First up is the Battleforce: Scáthborn Coven.

This box features none other than Morathi-Khaine herself. Plus you’ve got five Khinerai Heartrenders and 10 Blood Sisters which have two different units you can build them into. This looks to be a fantastic way to jump into a DoK army. But being a battleforce I do wonder about availability…

Anyhow, the Spearhead box is ALSO coming. This new Khainite Shadow Coven is bound to be around longer than the Battlforce box.

This one features some standard issue options for the army. The Cauldron of Blood has a trio of Hero options you can build into. But you’ve also got the warband of Khainite Shadowstalkers as well as 10 Sisters of Slaughter. This one could easily end up being a repeat purchase for new DoK players, too.

Finally, we have a Regiment of Renown for those players who are DoK curious but don’t want to commit to a full army.

The Crimson Lash features a High Gladiatrix with 10 Sisters of Slaughter. It’s a small contingent of the Daughters of Khaine but you really can’t go wrong with these murderous ladies. You can take them in the following armies:

  • Cities of Sigmar
  • Fyreslayers
  • Idoneth Deepkin
  • Kharadron Overlords
  • Lumineth Realm-lords
  • Seraphon
  • Stormcast Eternals
  • Sylvaneth

That’s pretty much the rest of the Order Roster. That’s not a huge surprise there. I don’t see them joining up with any of the other Grand Alliances.

All these new DoK products are coming soon from GW. We’ll be keeping an eye out for them as well.
