Go On An Adventure While These Five ‘Lord of the Rings’ Games – Up To 29% Off
Lord of the Rings is the pinnacle of what it means to go on an adventure. Check out these 5 games that will help you catch a piece of that for yourself.
The Hobbit: There and Back Again
Just think of this board game as a prequel to the others. The Hobbit: There & Back Again lets you play through the entire story of The Hobbit over the course of eight replayable chapters. So it can work as a stand-alone game or a legacy game that your party returns to multiple game nights in a row. It’s a competitive, story-driven dice game where players help guide Bilbo through his journey.
In The Hobbit: There & Back Again, 1 – 4 players compete to create the most rewarding journey to the Lonely Mountain, reclaim the treasure of the Dwarves, and defeat the Dragon Smaug. Roll the dice and draft your path to evade Trolls, battle Goblins, solve riddles, and pen the best conclusion to each chapter in your personal adventure guide.
Monopoly: The Lord of The Rings Edition
While we’re on the topic of tried and true staples of pop culture, it’s Monopoly! With so many versions and editions, and even the wholly unknown official expansion, Monopoly has stood the test of time. Whether or not that’s a good thing is up to you. But now you can at least add a fun new twist to the game. Rather than wandering the streets of Atlantic City, New Jersey, you can wander the dark tunnels of Moria, the halls of Rivendell, and more.

In the Monopoly Board Game: The Lord of the Rings Edition players imagine being in Middle-earth as one of the Fellowship. Buy properties to protect the lands from the evil armies of Mordor, and earn money by charging rent and by controlling the Ring of Power. This strategy board game is one of the funnest toys for 8 year old boys and girls and up to do for family game night. Makes one greatest family gifts for 8 year old boys and girls and up.
Lord of the Rings Adventure Book Game
There’s just a level of strategy and competition that doesn’t appeal to many, myself included. Lord of the Rings Adventure Book Game is honestly more my speed. Plus, I will always prefer a cooperative game over a competitive one. It’s simple and aimed towards a younger audience, but still provides enough gameplay to keep all ages entertained. Plus, since you’ll be playing through the whole story, it’s a great intro into the series.
Sauron’s shadow has fallen across Middle-earth, and the One Ring must be destroyed. Leave the Shire’s green pastures to travel to fair Rivendell, survive the Mines of Moria, march on Isengard, and finally reach Mordor. Only by working together can you ensure the One Ring is delivered to the fiery heart of Mount Doom and destroy it once and for all.
The Lord of The Rings: Duel for Middle-Earth
This isn’t just a reskin of 7 Wonders: Duel. In fact, The Lord of The Rings: Duel for Middle-Earth adds plenty of new mechanics and systems, that it’s barely even the same game. Not only will players be drafting cards and completing quests, but they must also battle on the fields of Middle Earth, in an entirely new area control system as well!

Choose your side in the ultimate battle for Middle-earth, playing either as the Fellowship to destroy the One Ring or as Sauron to conquer the land. Engage in a dynamic game played over three chapters, using cards and High Places to expand your influence, rally allies, and progress in your quest.
The Lord of the Rings: Journeys in Middle-Earth
The Lord of the Rings: Journeys in Middle-Earth is one of my favorite deck building games. It’s a cooperative, narrative game that plays a lot closer to a game of D&D, thanks to the free app which acts as the game’s GM. It’s fantastic solo or with a group as you play through the story and build a legend all your own.
Dive into the rich world of J.R.R. Tolkien’s iconic tales with this fully cooperative board game for one to five players. Embark on a captivating campaign, facing villainous foes and making heroic choices as you journey across the landscapes of Middle-earth. Each game is a unique adventure within a larger campaign, where you’ll explore dynamic landscapes and test your skills against the challenges that await.
