Goatboy here to talk about an Emperor’s Children army list that eschews the normal 3 Daemon Prince build and goes down a totally different route!

While there are a ton of Ultramarines winning – even winning the biggest event – the current crop has lost Calgar and his two friends, so we will not be talking about them.  This time, I want to talk about an Emperor’s Children list that loves Fulgrim, Lucius, and eschews the normal 3 Daemon Prince build for a totally different vibe.

Terran Villegas won with the following list in a 35 person even in Spain.  It is an interesting list that goes towards the consistent nature of Peerless Bladesmen with their always on Sustained Hits or Lethal Hits.  It is an interesting go wide build with a ton of options all over the place and some fun methods to punch up into the enemy.

Oh, and it doesn’t have 3 Winged Daemon Princes in it.

Emperor’s Children Peerless Blades Tactics

This detachment has some amazing enhancements with the simple Distortion that gives +1 to attacks and damage.  You have Blinding Speed that gives the bearer and the unit a once-per-game fights first.  You also have Rise to the Challenge, which lets the model get an additional attack phase if they are within Engagement range of 3 enemy models.

The detachment also gets an auto fight on death, as well as a few other fun options like an out-of-phase charge move in your opponent’s movement phase, which could be fun.  It is an interesting detachment as it always works and doesn’t rely on you killing things.  I do think Coterie is probably better still, but it is awesome to see something else win for the underrepresented Emperor’s Children.

We’ll see if I have any better luck when I bring them to Adepticon, as I should try to play this newly painted army of mine.  If not, I will at least look cool by throwing down with some models with hot pink OSL and hot pink static grass.  It will still be a fun time.
