Modiphius Unveils Two New Fallout RPG Books
From the glitz and glamour of New Vegas to the Shady Sands of New California, Modiphius has two new Fallout RPG books in the works!
The Fallout RPG is getting two new setting books this year from Modiphius. Each one will expand the world of the Wasteland into familiar territory. Whether that’s stepping into the desert-streaked and Deathclaw dappled sands of the Mojave Wasteland and its glimmering jewel, New Vegas; or the iconic setting of New California as experienced through the eyes of a Vault Dweller sent out to find a water chip.
That’s right, we’re going back to Fallout 1, baybee. Both of these announcements are great news for any fans of the Fallout RPG – and if you haven’t tried it, now’s the perfect time to jump in.
Fallout RPG New Setting Books – New Vegas and New California
That’s right folks. Two new setting guides coming to Modiphius’ Fallout RPG in the next few months. It all starts with a trip to New Vegas and the Mojave Wasteland. You might be familiar with the setting from the incredibly popular Fallout: New Vegas or from the most recent season of Fallout.
Either way, the new book will follow the path of the Courier. You’ll be able to “retell the now-famous tale of the Courier” which sounds to me like there’s a campaign mode where you can basically New Vegas it up. Or you can forge your own stories with new factions, player options, and more.
But what really has me champing at the bit, is the Fallout 1 sourcebook/setting guide for New California. This book is specifically inspired by the first game in the now iconic series:
“A New California setting guide, based on the events of Fallout 1. Players can step into the Wasteland as we saw it for the very first time, and experience the game that started it all in a brand-new context. Equipped with new gear, traits, perks, and origins, new characters can perfectly prepare to wander the Wasteland of old.”
The announcement specifically calls out fighting the Master’s army of super mutants – so it seems like there’s a heavier plot element in both of these setting guides. And of course, we get some new origins – including psychic powers, thanks to the new Psyker Origin, or play a First-Gen Super Mutant and be one of the Master’s perfect chosen.
Both of these books are coming later this year. And don’t worry if you don’t see your favorite Fallout setting here. Modiphius has plans for the Capital Wasteland, Boston Commonwealth, and the Appalachian Mountains in 2027. So stay tuned!
Time to go put on the Inkspots again, I guess!
