The GW Warhammer Preview for Adepticon 2026 was a pretty wild showcase!  Here’s what really blew my socks off!

Sure GW started off the Showcase with some technical issues, followed by some amazing models.  There was a lot to digest and it really seems to have given a lot of things for just about everyone.  Let’s talk about the top 5 things that interest me.

5 – Cities of Sigmar Cog Forts

OK, not 40K, but…these guys are pretty dang awesome.  I don’t play Age of Sigmar but find the designs to be very neat and unique for the army.  I see some of the designs have been stepped back a bit and the models feel like their costumes work well and aren’t just going to be crazy to deal with. The Cities of Sigmar Cogforts are pretty cool too and just will look neat crushing the ground beneath their cog feet.

4 – New Astra Militarum Commissar Graves

I am not sure about all the tanks and weird vehicles – but the leader characters are pretty awesome.  I like the new weird Necromunda Inquisitor as well as all the characters have a ton of flavor.  The designs are pretty intense but fit within the new world of 40K so I am excited to see them on the table.  I hope these new Astra Militaum Commissars work well within the new game we are getting later this year.

3 – WAZZDAKKA Gutsmek!

Holy crap is this model amazing looking. I have a soft spot for any Ork Biker and this is the king of the Biker jerks.  It’s an amazing model and something I can’t wait to get my hands on.  It is a bit insane in the overall movement shown within the model which could be a bit annoying to play with – but it looks awesome to paint.  I hope we get some cool Ork Bikers coming with this too.

2 – The Red Terror Returns!

I love the idea of a Killteam game that is basically one player running a monster and the other player trying to kill that monster.  I think there is a ton of room to build games with this like Marines going after a Chaos Knight, some kind of crazy attack of a C’tan, or even just some other new crazy beast of doom returning from the mists of the past.  This is a cool way to build a “single” boxed game that still stitches into 40K and other GW options. Nice to see the Tyranids getting a classic character back!

1 – 40K 11th Edition!

I love the return to Armageddon and the new 40K 11th Edition boxed set.  The animation was pretty stellar with a bunch of awesome things shown in it. While the reveal of a new Intercessor wasn’t the most exciting (can’t we get a new Lieutenant) the Ork redesign looks pretty awesome.  All the reveals of the changes coming to the game is also cool and really feels like GW took the lessons learned in 10th, updated things, and hopefully made a game that is both fun and easily accessible.  I am so excited to start playing this and plan on a few weeks of games with buddies locally as well as some friends in Houston and the Goonhammer group.  I want to hit the ground running with the new game as my foot will be healed, the refresh of the game will be great, and I am ready to just play more.

Karamazov…errr… Fraye is here!

Thank You GW!

Those are the 5 things I really liked from the reveal this time around.  There were some cool things for Horus Heresy with more models updated to plastic as well as some cool Lord of the Rings units and even Underworld stuff.  I didn’t like all the Astra Militarum tanks that showed up but we’ll see how good they end up being.  They feel not nearly as big as they should be when compared to the Dorn and other options.  I was kinda hoping we would see a new Leman Russ like thing but will just have to live with the Guard liking Treads and Tires from now on.
