RPG: Unique And Fun Dice For Equally Unique And Fun Characters
Dice that are designed to look like something besides dice can be some of the most unique and immersive little touches to bring to the table.
Lots of dice are either made out of or filled with unique materials. And we love dice that are made of gemstone or full of tiny in-character objects. But sometimes dice are made to look like they are non-dice items. Sometimes they’re even tools your character may use themselves. And those are almost always my favorites.
Dice Shooter
Something about having fake weapons to roll your dice while your character attacks with their imaginary weapons is always very funny to me. I’ve seen dice rolling crossbows and swords that act as dice boxes, but this is a little faux firearm that “shoots” dice bullets. It wouldn’t be my dice roller of choice, personally. But I know there are people – and their characters – who would love a dice shooter set.
Roll The Bones
If you’re really into old-timey slang, you’ll know that these rollable bones are a very funny and very silly pun. This set of six D6 is perfect for any of the multiple systems that only require a handful of D6 to play. Or, for any time you want to swap out a bunch of six-sided dice, like regular board games, or to keep a few extra in your regular dice bag for adding up damage.
Multi-Dice Roller
We’ve all seen a bunch of dice rollers, but they don’t usually come as a multitool. This dice roller has rows for your D20, D10, or D8. So with a flick of your hand, you’ll have three different dice spinning. The design is really easy to read and simple, and small enough to fit comfortably in one hand.
Potion Dice
We could all stand to have a couple more healing potions in our inventories. And with this dice set, you’ll have seven more! The different dice are all represented by bigger and bigger potion bottles with the same general, highly recognizable shape. So when your character is in rough shape, you’ll hopefully always have a potion ready to pop open.
Lantern Dice
I don’t think about lanterns in TTRPGs as often as I probably should. We’re always in dark places, and an extra light source would probably be helpful. But even if your character doesn’t have a light, these lantern dice will look beautiful at the table. Each lantern has its own unique design and shape, but they also have common elements running through each piece, making it really feel like a set.
Dice Elixer Mixer
This may be the dice that inspired this post; I just needed to take a second look at them. These elixir bottles come in their own little bottle holder or perhaps a centrifuge. Ask your party’s artificer exactly what you’re looking at, because that’s probably who at the table needs a set of these dice. The bottle shapes are all really interesting and dynamic, and the colors of each are really simple but still really beautiful.
