The Emperor Protects: A Warhammer 40,000 Musical Trailer
A Warhammer 40K Musical? *Checks Date* …oh. Oh I get it. At the same time, there was a LOT of effort put into this one.
It’s that day again. You already shouldn’t believe everything you read on the internet but TODAY in particular. At the same time some of these April Fools gags do go pretty hard. You have to at least respect the effort that goes into this one.
Warhammer 40,000 Musical?!
So yeah…that happened. And look, I’m not a huge fan of musicals. They just aren’t my thing. And I’m not here to diss them or people who do enjoy them. I say go for it! Enjoy your thing. And even if I’m not a fan of musicals I can still respect the genre. So I wanted to point out the costumes here for the Marines (all of them), Trazyn, and the Sister of Battle. Those were really impressive. I also appreciate the back-up singers as well even if their costumes were fairly basic by comparison.
They even made a handful of songs just for this gag. That means someone actually took the time to compose the music, write the various lyrics and their parts, and then teach and rehearse them. With a at least a half-dozen or so performers. That’s not exactly an easy thing to do. On top of that, there’s some choreography, staging, lighting, and camera work that went into all this, too. And, yes, this might be a short video but all that takes time. And then there’s the editing process on top of that. So yeah…this might not be my cup of tea but I really do respect the effort!
Apparently, there’s also some behind-the-scenes footage on WarhammerTV you can check out if you’re a subscriber as well!

As far as April Fools gags go this one is impressive. I do wonder if GW has any plans on releasing full versions of their songs, too. I mean I kind of hope they do just because of the amount of effort that went into making them. So congrats to the folks that made this “musical” happen. While I don’t think this will show up on Broadway anytime soon I’m also not going to diss this one. Good job GW.
“Suffer not the alien” will be stuck in my head for a bit.
