Horus Heresy: The Falchion and Spartan Prometheus Up Close
Heavy armor is rolling onto the battlefields of the 31st Millennium, and we got an early look at their schematics.
We’ve seen an influx of armor for the battlefields of the Horus Heresy this spring. The two most recent installments in the Journal Tactica series have each focused on a different aspect of tank warfare. Today, we take a look at some of the final vehicles releasing as part of this armored wave.
Falchion

The long-awaited Falchion is the final plastic resculpt of the Fellblade chassis variants. The Fellblade and Glaive have been out for some time now but the Falchion is sure to be a favorite for numerous Praetors. Packing an enormous neutron wave cannon, the Falchion is capable of punching a hole through just about anything, up to and including titans.
This kit features the biggest divergence from the base fellblade chassis. The neutron wave cannon is so enormous that it can’t function as a turret, and instead the tank itself is built around its bulk. The lack of turret gives it a very cool low profile, reminiscent of a WWII era German tank destroyer.
I really love this kit and can’t wait to add one alongside my standard fellblade.
Spartan Prometheus Assault Tank

The Prometheus features a sponson-weapon swap for the reliable Spartan Assault Tank but is otherwise identical to the standard chassis. Kit this heavy transport out with your choice of paired laser destroyers or Gravis Heavy Bolter batteries. I’ve already got a standard Spartan which taxis around my cataphractii or Chieftain retinue but I might pick up this new kit. It would look good in Justaerin livery, and maybe that’s the excuse I need to finally expand my Sons of Horus with some 1st Company support.
Only a couple of tanks remain from this spring’s previews. When do you think we’ll see the Whirlwind and others finally released?
