Huge LEGO ‘Star Wars’ Battle of Kashyyyk Has 125,000 Pieces – Wookiees Attack!
This massive Battle of Kashyyyk LEGO diorama includes thousands of pieces and tons of Wookie action!
The forest world of Kashyyyk is the home planet of the Wookiees. This magnificent planet has given birth to some of the greatest and most loyal warriors the galaxy has ever known. Thanks to being the main setting of the Star Wars Holiday Special, it’s also the third planet in all of Star Wars that we actually get live action scenes on, showing up all the way back in 1978. It’s a world that has become central to many Star Wars stories and characters.
In 19 BBY, it was also the site of one of the last battles of the Clone Wars. During the last major CIS offensive, Kashyyyk came under attack by a massive Droid army and CIS fleet. In response, the Republic mobilized a large strike force, including a number of Jedi. Led by Grand Master Yoda, the Republic forces were able to break the CIS blockade and reinforce Kashyyyk, leading to massive land battles. Despite Order 66 throwing the Republic forces into disarray and costing them their Jedi leaders, the CIS was defeated, and the planet was saved for the Wookiees… for a time.
LEGO Battle of Kashyyyk
Taking over two years of hard work the Battle of Kashyyyk was brought to stunning LEGO life. Done by David Hall from Solid Brix Studios, this massive build is truly a sight to behold. The build occupies a massive table and used around 125,000 pieces. It includes dozens of vehicles and hundreds of minifigs. It’s a truly impressive set up. David’s built shows off the battle based on the scenes from Revenge of the Sith. You’ve got the Droid army landing from the sea. Then you’ve got the Republic/Wookiee defensive line on the beach. This builds up to the massive trees that hold the Republic command post. At the back of the build there are cliff towers hiding a massive Republic base.
Troops and vehicles from both sides are rushing into the middle to fight while aircraft make attack runs. It’s chaotic and crazy and very true to the movie scene. Despite the scale and frenetic action of the main build, there are also just so many details here. You’ve got a lot of little things recreated all across the build, and the Republic base gives a bit of quite space for non-action things. It’s a really cool and super detailed build.

Start Your Own Droid Army With The LEGO MTT
LEGO has released several sets based on the Battle of Kashyyyk before, though currently none are for sale. However, there are still plenty of Clone Wars sets to get your hands on and start building. Take, for instance, this really cool LEGO MTT. This Droid transport is in the correct Separatist colors, and while it may be from the Battle of Felucia, it was taking place at the same time. It’s a cool build with some fun play features. And it also comes with a lot of Droids to start an army, and a few Clones and Jedi as well.
