This week’s 5E compatible RPGs include an expanded monster manual, a solo-adventurer’s guide, ways to use all of the monsters, and much more.

Monster Manual Expanded

With updated 5.5 rules, this expanded Monster Manual adds 325 pages worth of new monsters to encounter, nostalgic variants to make you think of classic D&D, and tons of hand-drawn art by real artists. It will let you add stronger and weaker versions of various monsters, and expand upon the lore you know and love. So your adventures can keep dungeon diving endlessly.

Monster Manual Expanded 5.5e is a massive 325-page bestiary designed to seamlessly supplement the 2024 edition of the Monster Manual. Armed with a staggering 498 creature stat blocks, this book arms Dungeon Masters with unparalleled options and flexibility for designing unforgettable adventures!

The Solo Adventurer’s Toolbox

For the solo adventurer, this book will help guide you through 5E journeys for one. And not only that, but it will work for most other systems as well. It will provide you with tables, generators, and non-combat encounters to give your solo adventure richness and randomized components.

This book is 5e specific, but can be used as an agnostic tool also. There is much of use here to the solo player, and to the creative DM as well.

The idea is that this book will give you the tools to add more richness to your game. If you are already solo gaming, it also provides you with a few alternate systems to try. There are other resources that contain similar tools to those contained herein. However, there are only a handful of resources that contain the breadth of solo-specific resources presented here.

Tatters of Myth Drannor

Myth Drannor was once a prosperous city of magic. But now all that’s left are monster-infested ruins, and vaults that may contain magic and answers, or may just contain more monsters. Can you figure out what happened to Myth Drannor? Or at least survive everything that’s taken up residence there?

The name is legendary, and its utterance invokes strong feelings in the hearts of adventurers. Wonder. Curiosity. Excitement. Grief. Loss.

Long ago, it was the pinnacle of a shining kingdom of elves in the heartland of Faerun, a sparkling city of song and merriment where magic flowed like a crystalline river through every facet of life. And then, it fell. Myth Drannor collapsed, and in its wake was left a realm of darkness and horror. Evil crept into the forest from outside the Material Plane, and powers from the surrounding region greedily sought to claim the treasures of Myth Drannor for themselves – the land itself became twisted and shadowed.

But much of the wonders of Myth Drannor remain hidden behind locked doors, monster-infested ruins, and shadow-haunted vaults. Adventurers of all stripes travel to the dark forest north and east of Cormyr to stake their claim on fame and fortune – though most simply find their waiting grave.

Hamund’s Harvesting Handbook

Is defeating a monster enough? Or do you want to be able to use every part of the monster? This book includes more than 200 new, craftable, monster-based items for your party to make as you work your way through your next monster den.

Welcome dear reader to Hamund’s Harvesting Handbook, written by none other than I, Hamund Holderhek! Through my life I have fought and defeated just about every kind of creature you can imagine: I have tussled with treants, skirmished with sphinxes, and even engaged in fisticuffs with a fomorian or two. Never being one to let something go to waste, I always took my trusty hunting knife to these creatures and had a look to see what they had to offer. I have spent many years writing down my findings and anecdotes, and I now present them to you less seasoned adventurers so you may soak in my wisdom.

Codex of the Infinite Planes

There are many planes in D&D, and most of our characters only spend time traveling through one of them. But this book will give each plane a detailed description and game mechanics. Should you vacation on these planes? Probably not. But if someone’s DM drops you somewhere strange one of these sessions, it’s good to be prepared.

Your world is about to get much bigger. Infinitely bigger, specifically!

Codex of the Infinite Planes is a Dungeons & Dragons supplement expanding upon the planes of existence. The planes have been a presence in Dungeons & Dragons since the earliest days of the game, with multiple sourcebooks (and even an entire setting) dedicated to describing the fantastic worlds existing beyond the Material Plane.

Each plane receives a detailed description, including game mechanics handling hazards and phenomena, notes on traveling to and within the plane, a look at the powerful people and organizations operating on the plane, a review of the monstrous inhabitants, a host of interesting sites and treasures, random encounter tables for each plane, and adventure hooks providing examples of using the plane in a scenario.
