The armies of Basilea and the Forces of the Abyss battle it out in these new pre-orders.

Kings of War players are enjoying a big spring and summer. As we reported recently, the Fracture expansion is almost here to change forever change the world of Pannithor. More pre-orders are arriving to bolster the armies of two of the expansion’s stars, the Basilean hegemony and the Forces of the Abyss. These armies are each receiving a very cool bundle of heroes and characters, and can be pre-ordered now. These bundles are expected to ship in July of this year.

Basilean New Miniatures Bundle

Basilean New Miniatures Bundle $133.20

I’m not gonna lie, I haven’t played Kings of War before and if you asked me which of the two armies in this article I’d probably start with my first instinct would have been to say “the demons, of course.” But I dunno, the dragon in this set is seriously awesome.

The star of the show here is obviously the High Paladin on Dragon who is just oozing with classic fantasy charm and will make a stunning centerpiece for your army. He’s accompanied by a new sculpt for the named character Gnaeus Sallustis atop his noble Basilean lion, a divinely blessed Ur-Elohi, and a second paladin who has not yet earned the right to sit on a totally sweet dragon. All of this comes together at a savings of $14.80 with the pre-order.

Forces of the Abyss Heroes Pack

Forces of the Abyss Heroes Pack $60

I only recently became aware of the Forces of the Abyss as an army choice for Kings of War but I love the classic fantasy demon aesthetic of this army. Looking like they just stepped off the cover of an CD your mom took away from you in 1988, this set contains 4 awesome demons to lead your army. Front and center is an Abyssal Warlord which can be built with a variety of modular head and weapon options. He’s accompanied by a few lesser, but still quite impressive demon heros including a Seductress, Efreet, and Abyssal Warlock. This pack of models will ship later this month, May 2026.

My hobby bandwidth is stretched pretty thin but I gotta admit, the classic fantasy look of Kings of War is really starting to grow on me. Either of these armies could be the one that finally gets me into some old school rank-and-flank goodness with Kings of War.
