RPG: ‘Pass The Torch’ Campaign For Lancer – Three New Mechs And A Deadly Plague
Three new mechs, and a deadly nanite plague? In this economy? Must be Lancer. Check out a new campaign, crowdfunding now.
There’s a new third-party campaign crowdfunding for Lancer right now, set in the distant future of the distant future. Its got some cool sci-fi horror vibes to it. In the distant future of Lancer’s already distant future, a nanite plague is unleashed upon the Milky Way and it all goes wrong from there. Plus, you get three new custom frames and an adventure that takes you from LL0-LL2.
Lancer: Pass The Torch – I Can’t Believe It’s Not Grey Goo
Look, you either love Lancer or you bounce off it hard. It is a crunchy, tactical mech RPG that is not afraid to reward system mastery. Half of the fun of playingv it is figuring out what kind of hell machine you can make with various mech component licenses.
But, one of the things the game sorely needs is more stuff to run. Designing a Lancer adventure, let alone a campaign, is a lot of work. And while it’s fun to do, it’s nice to have something ready to go, especially if it is your first time running. That’s a learning curve you don’t want to run full speed into.
“Pass the Torch is a third-party narrative campaign set in the far future of the Lancer universe. The Milky Way is beset by the Argent Plague, a nanite swarm that threatens to snuff out the spark of civilization.
In this grim future, the Milky Way burns with a mysterious nanite swarm, the Argent Plague, which has erased worlds and systems off the starmap. Under the weight of the Plague and a zealous insurrection, Union has stumbled, and its supremacy is challenged by the rising power of the Annorum Empyrea. The fragments of humanity grapple over ever-diminishing resources, clinging to life. Even the stars themselves are being consumed by the Plague, their lights dimming along with humanity’s hope. Then a torch ignites in the sea of guttering candles.”
Which is why it’s exciting to see a Lancer campaign doing so well on Kickstarter. It’s a smaller crowdfunder, but I’m hopeful that we’ll see more from the Lancer Community in the near future.
In the meantime, be sure and check out Lancer: Pass the Torch at the link below! There’s still 11 days left on the Kickstarter.
It’s always goo. Always!
