RPG: ‘Symbaroum’s 10th Anniversary Kickstarter Is Live Now
Free League’s 10th Anniversary Kickstarter campaign for its dark fantasy RPG, Symbaroum is live now, featuring three new core books and more!
What is up with time continuing to pass at a steady and predictable rate? Because that means it’s been a literal decade since Free League first unleashed Symbaroum, the “dark fantasy” RPG all about exploring a dark and dangerous wilderness, sandbox style. Actually, if you get really semantic about it, it’s been a decade since the English release; the RPG was first released in Swedish back in 2014. But that’s neither here nor there.
Today, however, marks the launch of the 10th anniversary Kickstarter, celebrating the game with a new set of revised core rulebooks and a new campaign setting.
Symbaroum 10th Anniversary Kickstarter – Live Now
Free League launched its new Kickstarter campaign today. The anniversary line includes revised versions of all three of the core rulebooks “designed to make Symbaroum even more accessible.” In a nutshell, Free League wants a smoother, more user-friendly experience when it comes to getting into the game.
Because Symbaroum, with its gritty wilderness and sometimes deadly combat, can be a bit of a mouthful for that first bite. But that’s where the new Kickstarter comes in. It both updates and expands the game.
How does it expand the game? Alongside the release of the new line of anniversary core rulebooks, you’ll also find a hardcover expansion for the main setting in Davokar and Ambria – Darkness Rising. But then you can also find a whole new campaign setting in the City States of Vendilyn.
“Ten years after its international launch, the celebrated Symbaroum RPG is ready to shed its emerald-shimmering skin. While keeping to a standalone, all-in-one Core Rulebook, the content of the current four core books (Core Rules, Advanced Player’s GUide, Game Master’s Guide, and Monster Codex) will be rearranged into three volumes and gently revised, to smooth out the edges and make the material more user-friendly.”
So if you’ve been playing Symbaroum or are curious, you might want to check out the Kickstarter, which is already successful in its first day. Of course, there are still plenty of Kickstarter exclusives and other benefits for early backers. But even if you wait til the end, three books, a new setting, and some grogeous art and maps await you on the other side of it.
