Rules previews arrive for the Mandalorians as their pre-order window – and your chance for exclusive minis – begins to close.

We’ve known that the Mandalorians would be storming the battlefields of Star Wars: Legion in a big way since earlier this spring. With the days quickly counting down to their release on June 19th, Atomic Mass Games has shared a big preview of their rules and some additional photos of these extremely cool models. If you’d told me that I could field an entire army of Boba Fetts in 1992, twelve-year-old me would have lost his mind. To be honest, forty-six-year-old me might still lose his mind because these figures are awesome.

Mandalorian Clans Battleforce

This is essentially an all-new army for Star Wars: Legion, but despite being made entirely of Mandalorians, it can be built in a few interesting ways. Most appealing to me is the ability to build a mix of Mandalorians from different clans and sects. I love seeing them in mismatched armor and weapons.

Mandalorian Initiates

It seems that your army can be comprised of a mix of Mandalorians of varying skill. Mandalorian Initiates will likely make up the bulk of your force. These fleddglings may have not yet earned their jetpacks but being able to choose a clan affiliation will let you tailor them to suit your needs on a game-to-game basis.

Mandalorian Warriors

Meanwhile, Mandalorian Warriors comprise the backbone of your army. They have better stats than Initiates in a number of places, but most importantly they enjoy the Duelist keyword. Depending on their clan these might be Aim or Dodge tokens or other bonuses. And of course, fully inducted Mandalorian Warriors have earned their jetpacks making them deadly fast!

Clan Kryze

Finally, you can use the models in this set to build Clan Kryze Veterans who are able to be used within a Mandalorians Clan Battleforce or as Mercenaries for either the Rebel Alliance or Galactic Republic. A Special Forces unit, they’re armed with deadly Blaster Pistols and GALAAR-15 Carbines, ensuring that they have optimal firepower at any engagement range. They can also gain some serious heavy firepower in the form of the GALAAR-90 Sniper Rifles, SHUKUR-05 Repaters and the Micro-Grenade Launcher.

I love an army in a box and this looks like a good one. 36 miniatures and all the cards you need to get them on the tabletop for $139.99 is a pretty great deal in today’s miniatures world. You’ll also get the special edition Mandalorian and Grogu minis with your pre-order, releasing June 19th.

…AND GROGU!
