Games Workshop reveals their first ever pre-painted terrain for Warhammer 40,000.

Games Workshop wasted no time in responding to a handful of leaked photos making their way around the Warhammer internet community. These images seemed to suggest that a pre-painted terrain kit might be coming to the game, and speculation was rampant. Within hours, the company released a video in response.

Full Color Terrain

This is pretty wild stuff! The terrain pieces themselves are in the style of classic Mechanicus kits. They feature tons of gribbly dials, imperial insignia, screens, skulls, and other details. At first glance, they appear to be painted to a surprisingly high standard.

This is pretty cool stuff. The terrain is clearly designed to fit the footprints of the recently revealed Terrain Area Set. Combine the two, and you’ll have a pretty nice-looking table set up in a matter of minutes. I can see this being a real boon for event organizers who need an attractive centerpiece table for finals matches and the like.

Just how these kits are manufactured and what they will cost is anyone’s guess for now. Hopefully, we’ll hear more soon.

This video had clearly been made in advance and was rushed out in response to the leak, and it seems there’s a secondary reveal to be found lurking within…

Ork Warbikes

Canny viewers instantly noticed these brand new Ork Warbikes zooming around the pre-painted battlefield. Of the three bikes shown, two seem to be equipped in a pretty standard manner but one of them stands out.

Is that an Ork Warboss on a bike? An all new character, perhaps? We can only speculate now but it seems that the Speedwaaagh will be getting some much needed reinforcements in the not-too-distant future!

Do you think we’ll see more pre-painted terrain like Necron installations or Aeldari wraithbone structures?
