Helldivers 2 gets a spicy new update that brings the grim darkness Warhammer 40K to the Managed Democracy of Super Earth.

They did it. Oh, what an exciting time to be a Helldivers 2 enjoyer. A newly announced expansion will bring the grim darkness of Warhammer 40K to the defense of Managed Democracy. That’s right, it’s the Helldivers 2/Warhammer 40K crossover that folks have been hungry for since the release of Helldivers 2.

Helldivers 2 Releases The Warhammer 40K Warbond At Long Last

It’s not hard to see why. Both Helldivers 2 and Warhammer 40K do a great job of satirizing the tyrannical leaning of the empire. One has the Imperium with its bureaucracy that requisitions useless ammo from worlds trying to defend themselves from existential threats. The other has operations like ‘Valid Pretext’ to invade worlds while they turn horrible space bugs into oil and test it out on their citizens.

Though I’ve just been informed by both a Democracy Officer and an agent of the Inquisition that neither of these things actually have ever happened. I’ve been told that I’m required to report to two separate facilities for re-education and to face the Emperor’s Mercy.

At any rate, the new warbond will be extremely spicy. I mean the possibilities are limitless. Chainswords. Plasma weapons. Even a bolter could be a part of the new legendary warbond. We don’t know what will be in it yet. Only that it’s coming later this year.

“We’re excited to announce a collaboration between Helldivers 2 and Warhammer 40,000, bringing the next Legendary Warbond to the Galactic War later this year. More details coming soon.”

This is just one more exciting piece of news swept up in Skulls 2026, the Warhammer video game fest. You better believe we’ll be keeping an eye out for more details. So as soon as we get a hint of what might be on the Warbond, you’ll be hearing about it.

Assuming you click the article, that is. In the meantime, it might be worth it to go grind some extra Super Samples so you can nab whatever new Stratagems the Warbond will introduce.
