Goatboy here and let me tell you the new World Eaters 11th Edition info has me very excited! Here’s what you can expect!

It is wild I’ve built other armies in 9th and 10th edition but I just always keep coming back to World Eaters.  I feel that it fits a lot of my playstyle likes as well as its an army look that I enjoy.  Hobby-wise, you can go crazy with some weathering and damage as well as some fun little spot skin and color pieces to make the army interesting.  Plus Kharn is just a dope as heck kit!

The little World Eater faction preview we got really only leaves me with one question initially.  Will the Berserker Warband Detachment cost 2 points or 3?  If hope it costs 2 so I can at least add something new to my armies but if it doesn’t – well it just means I have more things to mess with.  I think the biggest win in the 3 we got shown is the Butchers of Khorne terminator options.

The Red Butchers were a unit from Forgeworld that was a well loved option.  You had a pile of crazy Terminators that would come in hard and butcher things. Thankfully this detachment – the Butchers of Khorne –  is pushing that batch of army and I just wish we got a character to add to this.  Right now it feels like a fun choice with all the things shown and even the little extra Stratagem talked about in video where you get a -1 damage in the opponents shooting phase.  The ability to get an extra Blessing of Khorne seems awesome.

The new update to Vessels of Wrath is interesting in that removes the ability to pick leaders in other units but instead lets you power up your leaders a bit.  I don’t know if that helps out more but I love seeing your characters get better in combat.  Letting your Juggerlord get an extra AP will be helpful when they pull their Zerker friends into combat.  I get the feeling a Daemon Prince heavy potion for World Eaters will start with this detachment.  Will just have to wait and see.

The last one is the Brazen Engines – a Daemon Engine update and as a player that always had 3 Maulerfiends, 3 Defilers, and 3 Forgefiend you can see how this option seems really enticing to me.  I love seeing Cleave on the Maulerfiends as that is a really interesting rule that gives blast to your close combat attacks.  I think it can be pretty exciting as another option that isn’t a Sweep and instead lets you come hard with your bigger hitting options.  I bet our Bloodthirsters get Cleave as a default.  The detachment rule is weird in that it causes Battleshock tests and will see if it matters more in this edition than the last.  I think the ability to ignore Modifiers to shooting and hits with a stratagem seems good but will just have to see.

I am really excited about the new updates  and think all the previewed bits continue to push World Eaters into this brutal army.  It is set up to hit you hard turn 2+ and continues to bring brutal efficiency to the army.  It will be interesting to see if the army goes heavy into Terminators and forces me to paint more of those guys from all the random Terminator boxes I have laying around.

Skulls for the Skull Throne!!!
