Accessories That Put the Dragon In Dungeons & Dragons
It’s called Dungeons and Dragons, but dragons are one of the monsters we encounter the least. So, let’s all give those dragons a bit more love.
Despite the game being called Dungeons and Dragons, we see dragons relatively little. The Monster Manual is full of hundreds of other monsters to fight instead, and many times, dragons are the sort of end-game beast you hold off on until players are more or less maxed out and your DM is ready to wrap the campaign up.
But dragons are central to the fantasy genre and aesthetic. Not to mention pretty darn cool. Even if you don’t want your character to meet one any time soon, you can still appreciate a cool-looking D&D dragon, so let’s do that.
Hollow Dragon Dice
This set of dice combines a bunch of things we think are very neat. They’re metal and hollow, have a great effect of a dragon sitting inside the dice, and the blue color even gives a gemstone effect. These come in a variety of colors, inducing a faux blood-stained set.
Sleeping Dragon Dice Bowl
Of course, if you’re getting special shiny rocks, you’ll need a dragon to slumber on and protect them. This sleeping dragon bowl has a neoprene rolling mat bottom, so every roll looks like you’re adding more dice to the dragon’s hoard. There is even a nice effect of gold coins on the floor of the rolling mat, because your dragon likes to collect all sorts of shiny things.
The Book on Dragons
Fizban’s Treasury of Dragons is basically the book on the subject for 5th edition. If you plan on incorporating dragons into your game, want more dragon options, more dragon-based-character options, or just want more lore and info to pad out your world with, you can’t go wrong with Fizban.
Red Dragon Figure
Sure, our characters don’t meet dragons often. But when it’s time to wouldn’t you prefer your players around the table have a realistic figure to look at? Y’know, for tactical reasons. Not because you like collecting things or terrorizing your players or anything. And while you’re at it, dragons come in all sorts of colors. So check out some black, green, blue, and white dragons, too. So Red here isn’t lonely.
Dice Dragon Hoard and Tower
If you have way more dice than you realistically need, you and the dragons may have a little more in common than you’d think.
