The Space Marine datasheets included in Armagaddon have landed – take a look at what they’re bringing to the table.

Just days ago, we received our first glimpse of the Armageddon datasheets for the greenskinned hordes. Today, the Space Marines can return fire with their own set. Just like the Orks, Marine players will receive a mix of previously existing models and all-new kits with all-new rules. But even the existing units see some changes for the edition, giving us a glimpse of what’s to come. Let’s take a look at a few of the most notable datasheets from today’s set.

Chaplain With Jump Pack

There’s not much more iconic in 40k than a Space Marine Chaplain. This new iteration does more than just look the business as he’s an absolute beast in melee combat. 4 Wounds and a 4+ Invulnerable Save make him tough as nails, but he also hits like a freight train.

Litany of Hate grants him an innate +1 on all his melee weapon wound rolls but Exhortation of Rage looks bonkers good. When this Chaplain’s unit is selected to fight you can roll a D6 and on a 4+ dish out D3 Mortal Wounds or just a straight 3 on a roll of 6! This is going to really soften up whoever he’s fighting before he even lays waste with his 5 Crozius Arcanum attacks. Brutal.

Intercessor Squad

Intercessors are the heart of every Space Marine chapter; versatile combatants who can operate as a mobile firing line while still holding their own in close-combat. Armed with the standard bolt rifle, they gain both ASSAULT and HEAVY, letting them benefit from staying motionless to lay down a storm of bolter fire or stay on the move without sacrificing firepower.

Even better, the Hail of Bolts ability means that during your shooting phase they can gain +2 A against a single enemy unit. That means a full 10-man squad of Intercessors could potentially 40 shots hitting on 2+ from HEAVY if they didn’t move! Finally, the humble Intercessor Squad has the Objective Secured ability allowing them to take control of an objective and move on without sacrificing control. I’m really happy to see the core Marine infantry looking so strong for this edition.

Vanguard Veteran Squad

These jump pack vets have received quite the glow up in their statline this edition. Already super-mobile thanks to their jump packs, they now gain Vanguard Assault. This ability grants them LETHAL HITS from their melee weapons on their charge turn. Combined with the new 2 D on their master-crafted power weapons, they’re maybe the heaviest hitting melee unit in the Armageddon box set. They’ll only get meaner with that Chaplain with Jump Pack leading them.

Landspeeder

Armageddon has something of a “back-to-basics” theme. The classic landspeeder returns with a few new tricks and I’m here for it. While it’s armed with the usual variety of punishing heavy weaponry, it doesn’t sacrifice speed for big guns. A base 14″ move is further improved by its Purgation Run ability.

Now, in your shooting phase, the Landspeeder can immedaitely make a normal move of up to D6″ letting you fire on a target and then dart away to safety. Sure, you give up the ability to charge that turn if you do this but if you were planning to use your Landspeeder in melee you probably have bigger problems to worry about.

This is awesome stuff and I’msomehow even more stoked to get my hands on Armageddon. The pieces are rapidly falling into place for 11th edition and I am getting more hyped by the day!

Which chapter do you think will benefit the most from these new models and updated datasheets?
