A new mercenary character joins the Ogor Mawtribes… and she’s got a very unique weapon option.

Another new kit has been revealed for the Ogor Mawtribes: Grell Firefist. Hot on the heels of the big summer preview and the follow-up Ogor Hunters, she’s the latest model revealed as part of this army’s 2026 makeover.

A Fist Full of…Cannon?

They say that if you find what you love to do you’ll never work another day in your life. Grell Firefist is a mercenary who really puts that saying to the test. A dedicated artillery aficionado. She’s so dedicated to her craft/hobby/trade that even blowing off her own hand in a moment of enthusiasm didn’t dissuade her. After all, you only need one hand to light a fuse…

Grell’s sculpt is a delightful example of what makes the Ogor Mawtrirbes such a compelling army. She’s covered in fantastic details from the monstrous jawbone that decorates her right-hand-cannon, to the cleavers, mismatched armor, and a snackpack human leg. The large size of these models means that a level of ornamentation that might clutter a smaller figure are instead characterful and big enough that they’ll be great fun to paint.

Hired Gun

Grell is happy to demonstrate her enthusiasm for blackpowder weaponry on behalf of pretty much any general willing to pay her modest(?) fee. Blastbelch, her signature cannon/right hand is a moderate range weapon that hits like a freight train. A base of D3+2 attacks hitting on 4s, wounding on 2s with 2 Rend and Damage 2 is a very solid profile. With this kind of heavy damage and reliable wound rolls she’s going to excel at combating heavy infanntry, cavalry, and monsters.

This is all further imporoved by her Ogor-Made Ammunition roll. As we can see on the sculpt itself, Grell packs Firefist with whatever miscellaneous junk is available; rocks, gems, human skulls, whatever. It’s all going down the cannon’s barrel to be shared with the enemy. At extreme close range (6″) she can bring this fearsome fusillade to bear increasing its Attacks from D3+2 to D6+2! Brutal stuff that will absolutely shred even the toughest enemy units.

Grell’s explosive hobby is inspiring to her fellow Ogors, as well. The shocking roar of Firefist provides just the kind of chaos and carnage that the Mawtribes find advantageous. Turn her cannon on an enemy unit locked in combat with one of your other Ogor units for a Thunderous Diversion. Your allied unit can use the enemy’s distraction to their advantage gaining the ability to Retreat without taking any mortal wounds and without losing the ability to Charge that round. This is fantastic fire support for an army like the Ogors who can’t afford to lose turns mopping up the survivors of last round’s combats.

This new mercenary looks like she’ll be a fantastic addition to any Mawtribes force but it sounds like she may be able to join other armies as well. I can see her being very welcome alongside certain Cities of Sigmar army lists, or as a little extra firepower for an army lacking ranged attacks.

Grell Firefist is going to be released soon but apparently she’s not the last reveal on the horizon for the Ogor Mawtribes. Warhammer Community promises at least one more reveal next week.

If you’re hungry for more Ogor Mawtribes reveals make sure you come back next Monday, as we’ve got even “maw” to show you!

Have purloined cannon, will travel.
