Dystopian Wars: New Enlightened Reinforcements Are On The Way

Dystopian Wars has had a storied history, but it’s been full steam ahead ever since Warcradle Studios took over its development. The latest faction to chart the waters of the Dystopian Age, the Enlightened, will be receiving some much needed reinforcements this August. A set of new battlemats is coming to your table, as well.
Enlightened Frontline Squadrons
Admirals of the Enlightened will definitely want to add this new box set to their forces. Two cruiser chassis are included in the box which can be constructed as your choice of four configurations. The cruisers are supported by frigates, airships, escorts, and fighters.
The stalwart Lovelace Cruiser is the backbrone of Enlightned fleets, but this set can be used to build its variants. The Copernicus Heavy cruiser, for instance, is armed with cutting edge weaponry for use only by the bravest or most reckless of Admirals.
Back up your fleet with a host of Scythe Fighters directed by a Chatelet Drone Cruiser. These add some flexible firepower to your force, and the box set includes a pair of Scythe Fighter SRS Tokens to mark their movements and effects on the tabletop.
The Agora Command cruiser is loaded with advanced technology and can help mitigate some of the more exotic effects of Enlightened weaponry. Exotic effects may included temporal/physical distortion or destruction.
The box set also includes a pair of Merian Automata Frigates. Attach them as escorts to your flagships for a little additional security. Finally, two Endymion Dyad Rotor hover above the waves, scouting ahead and providing reconnaissance and disruption forces for your fleet.
Battle on Land and Sea
Finally, a set of new battlemats are coming in August for your games of Dystopian Wars and its sister game, Armored Clash. New neoprene mats are coming in a variety of designs, all available in 4’x4′ or 4’x6′ dimensions for varying sized games and tables. You have your choice of calm or stormy seas for Dystopian Wars, while your games of Armored Clash can now be set on a Grass Plain, a Snow Valley, a River Valley, and a Desert Plain.
While these mats are intended for Dystopian Wars they could serve well for any number of games in varying scales. I really like the River Valley mat, I don’t think I’ve seen a design like that before and I would love to use it with any number of tiny-scale wargames, or scale it as a creek or stream for use with 28mm+ scale games. Super cool.
All of these products are now available for pre-order and will ship in August of 2026.
