Tabletop Gallery: “Stuntycast Eternals!”

“Those are some tall dwarfs”

Enjoy. If you have an awesome wargames shot you think would make a great BoLS pic of the day, email us. We love spectacle and characterful shots so lets see what you budding photographers can do! Warhammer 40,000, Fantasy, Warmachine/Hordes, DUST, Bolt Action, Dropzone, Gates of Antares & Flames of War miniatures photos are welcome.

Hey, those are my guys! They’re the Forgesworn Eternals. This picture was taken after a match at the LVO. Glad to see it up here!

Those guys look solid. Ever since release of the Sigmarines, I have disliked their looks. No matter who paints them or how, they always just look very bad to me.

Recently I decided to actually do some research on it a bit more. It was the dumb helmets that they have. Once they started taking them off and showing us more what’s underneath, I started to enjoy them a bit more. I’m currently on the lookout for a boatload of Medieval Knight helmets, so I can start my own Sigmarine army.

But you good sir nailed this one, in terms of name of the army, looks AND painting.

      • Jared Swenson

Thanks I really appreciate that. I have a blog showing the rest of the army where I am also chronicling my projects, right now I am working on a Nurgle army for AoS, that’s also heavily converted.

These are the heads I am thinking about using for the more “troops” styled Stormcast while leaving anyone in command with the actual Stormcast Helm.

        • Jared Swenson

That would look pretty kickass to be honest. I would like to see that.

          • Xodis

Still in the process of finishing up some CSM, than Stormcast is next on the table!

      • Sonic tooth

i despise the stormcast aesthetic (and the aos world tbh), especially as a bretonnian fanatic but i am interested in what they might look like without those awful helmets., excuse the silly question (coz ive never bought a stormcast miniature). are the heads difficult to remove? i imagine they would be for a hobby butterfingers like me, but i have loads of bret heads/helmets to experiment with (altho a bret wouldnt be seen dead riding a giant chicken)

        • Jared Swenson

In the starter set, most of the heads are attached to the torsos. But in the individual kits the heads are separate. Headswaps are simple in either case with some smart cutting.

    • Xodis

      Those are awesome looking, congrats!

    • ZeeLobby

Looks great man. Amazing what a headswap can do for them.

      • Jared Swenson

I know. Even the hardest anti-stormcast detractors admit they look cool with a different headswap. Bretonnian heads look amazing on them.

        • ZeeLobby

Yeah. I could still care less about their background. Much more interested to see the eventual human faction. That and stylistically I think their unimaginatively close to Space Marines. But it’s a definite improvement.

I would love to take this a step further and splice in bodies from the Dwarf Giants Blood Bowl team… Gotta be squat!

  • euansmith

It’s the new Dwarf Faction, the Doinmaheadin.
