BREAKING: Corvus Belli Introduces Aresteia

An all new boardgame spinoff of Infinity is coming.  Take a look.

via Wikipedia:

“An aristeia or aristia (/ærˈst.ə/; Ancient Greek: ἀριστεία, IPA: [aristěːaː], “excellence”) is a scene in the dramatic conventions of epic poetry as in the Iliad, where a hero in battle has his finest moments (aristos = “best”). An aristeia can result in the death of the hero at the aristeia’s end.”

It looks like Corvus Belli has a team-based hexboard boardgame set in the Human Sphere.  This looks like an all new fast paced casual way to enter the Infinity universe. The teaser video shows off a hexboard, and a montage of characters. According to Corvus Belli, this is a two player team boardgame set in the universe of Infinity.

The game board perhaps?

Corvus Belli says:

What is Aristeia!?

Aristeia! is the new board game from Corvus Belli, an Infinity spin-off in which two players become the managers of two competition teams for the greatest show in the Human Sphere. Players will face each other in the arena, and will have to plan their actions carefully to win.

Is this Game Independent from Infinity?

Yes, absolutely independent. Aristeia! is a board game, not a miniature wargame, and has been designed from scratch as a parallel product. The action happens in the Infinity universe and the game shares some characters and introduces new ones to this Science Fiction setting.

Which is the Release Date?

The expected release date is late 2017. Those who come and visit us at Gen Con, Essen or the Interplanetary will have the opportunity to try the game in our demonstration tables.

How Can I Know More?

We’ll reveal soon more information about Aristeia! in our website and social network accounts. To be up to date you can visit our official website:

A game that lets posthuman clones of Miyamoto Musashi fight Space Marine space werewolves from Space America?

    Yes please!

  • Sephyr

    High hopes for this.

  • Heinz Fiction

Sounds promising. Hoping it let’s me use some of my painted Infinity miniatures. I love everything about the parent game with the exeption of the rules. They are at least two orders of magnitude to complicated for me.

    • euansmith

The basics are super simple; but, man-o-man, things get deep very quickly 😀

      • Heinz Fiction

In every other game you think you have it figured out once you get to the special rules. In Infinity you’ll realise you only read the introduction yet.

  • Krizzab

revolver ocelot! you are pretty good!

  • ZeeLobby

This looks pretty awesome. Really comes down to complexity. My group really enjoyed the basic rules of infinity, but some of the advanced rules are just extremely dense. The world they built is awesome though, so I’m excited to see where this goes.

    • Hacking trips a lot of people up. All the guides and wikis available help a lot (Thanks Captian Spud!), but there’s no getting around it being a complicated game. Hopefully this will be lighter. It would be nice if I could get the boardgame group interested.

      • ZeeLobby

Yeah. We definitely play a weird mix of board games and tabletop games, but no one is that dedicated to complexity that Infinity was all that attractive. We still play occasionally, and the ruleset is great, but I’m hoping this can give them a bigger look at the world while not scaring them away.

Hey Zee, check your email please. An astrophath has been trying to ding you a message for several days now 🙂

I’m liking the artwork and the mix of characters.

  • This is turning out to be a good day for Infinity. My Knauf and Fat Yuan-Yuans arrived this morning, and now this.

    Time to get painting!

It seems that Infinity wanted to add a bit of the Overwatch hype to its core. Not a bad thingk, though. It looks promising.
