Check out Next Week’s new releases from GW. Start Collecting, Chapter Approved and more…

Start collecting boxes, Christmas Bundles, Chapter Approved…I mean, it’s not Christmas yet, but, it’s beginning to look a lot like it. So cue up the music and keep an eye out for little kids just trying to buy a pair of shoes, despite their dad saying there’s not much time.

For Warhammer 40,000, there are battleforces for the Orks, Genestealer Cults, Astra Militarum and T’au Empire. Each of these armies is known for its high model-count, and these battleforces make collecting them that much simpler; if you’re new to the army, each set contains a full force you can use in your games of Warhammer 40,000, while if you’re an existing player, the battleforces give you a range of handy units while saving you some money.

For Warhammer Age of Sigmar, you’ll be able to pick up a Vanguard Chamber’s worth of Stormcast Eternals, the beginnings of a terrifying Death army, a horde of Tzeentch Arcanites and a Sky-fleet’s worth of Kharadron Overlords. Like their Warhammer 40,000 counterparts, these boxes save you money and contain a wide range of miniatures to add to your army, but as an added bonus, each box contains a Warscroll Battalion for using it in your games!

Of course, starting an army is one thing, but what about finishing it? Painting an army only to watch your hard work be worn away and chipped by frequent handling is never fun. Thankfully, there’s a new product on hand to help you out. Munitorum Varnish is designed to protect your paint jobs with an easy-to-apply satin layer. It’s designed not to frost and provides every model with an even finish, taking off any unwanted shine.

These battleforces, the Munitorum Varnish and Chapter Approved will all be available to pre-order next week. In the meantime, you can get ready for Chapter Approved with our previews, starting here.

Just one pair of shoes, that’s all I need…

I wondered that. It’s almost a complete copy/paste job with the AoS missed out for no particular reason.

      • I_am_Alpharius

I’m severally tempted by the Kharadron Overlords set, depending on the price. Full retail clocks in at £147.50. if its between £100-110 then thats a great deal.

        • Matthew Pomeroy

They are one of the very few things about AoS that I dont think suck, so yeah they are tempting even me.

        • Red_Five_Standing_By

          US$170

        • Tshiva keln

There was an article on here a few weeks ago that showed them in a catalogue with a price of $170. Based on that it should be £100.

    • Fergie0044

That will be a separate post. Need those clicks!

    • Spacefrisian

      Oh nice space marines.

  • Fergie0044

No marines (of any flavour) for the bundles. Huh, can someone go check the temperature in hell?

    • John Henry III

I can’t the gates have frozen shut.

      • SilentPony

Up in the sky, is that a pig?

    • ZeeLobby

Could just be embracing the sell stuff that doesn’t sell mentality.

  • Rainthezangoose

Are the Battleforces £100? The Ork one looks pretty tempting not gonna lie, tho if I can spend £100 on plastic crack I’m getting Necromunda. Oh well.

    • EnTyme

They’re the same price as the Battleforces from last year, so $170 USD. Not sure what that translates to in GBP.

  • benn grimm

Prices might be useful. Or is that being saved for another article also?

    • ZeeLobby

      ;D

    • I_am_Alpharius

GW don’t provide them in the WH-Com articles. My guess would be between £100-120 for the army deal, depending on full retail value of the contents, or around 40% off. Varnish will likely be the same price as GW sprays, so £10.40 or £11.75. As for Chapter Approved probable around the same cost as AoSs Generals Handbook, which is £20; it maybe a smidge bigger, so perhaps up to £25

      • benn grimm

Ever thought about starting a blog? You could call it; ‘Bits Bols Missed’, or BBM for short. I’m sure it would be very popular. I’d click. Thanks btw.)

        • I_am_Alpharius

Would I have to post several times about the same thing? That seems like a lot of effort…

          • benn grimm

It would quickly become a full time occupation I suspect…

          • Ryan Miller

You would only fave to repost as many times bols reposts… I’m sure there’s a way to automate that.

    • EnTyme

      $170 USD each.

  • Troy Dean

Depending on price, that Guard box is pretty damn solid. Good start, good add-on or good allies.

    • benn grimm

Really does depend on price though doesn’t it?

      • Troy Dean

Well, yes, so that’s what I said.

        • benn grimm

What you said is equivalent to saying; ‘Depending on the weather tomorrow, it’ll be a really nice day’, so not really. But thanks for having a go at clearing it up.

    • Jani Jalassalo

      100 pound for box

      • Muninwing

but just the box. models cost extra.

        • Jani Jalassalo

i wouldn’t say so, since in euros box cost 130e and if buying separate 198e so that’s about 68e saving

          • Muninwing

            you’re missing the joke…

  • Spacefrisian

Start collecting plastic battlesisters wouldnt have been smart obviously, they wouldnt be able to keep up with demand.

  • Fraser1191

Im just waiting for the leaks for chapter approved

  • Tim Lester

for those asking the big boxes are all $170, they were in a white dwarf recently, cant remember which one or what price in other currency.

  • frank

Does the tau box have any troop choices in it?

    • Cabal

      No

  • Red_Five_Standing_By

The Orks breaks down to 27% off retail, or to put it differently, buy everything and get the Bikers and Lootas free.

    • Red_Five_Standing_By

Debating whether I want this or not, honestly. Unless something changes with the codex, I do not see myself playing bikers.

      • LankTank

There will undoubtedly be evil sunz faction rules which will be awesome
