Tabletop Spotlight: Angels Of Death

The Tabletop Spotlight is on Codex Supplement: Angels Of Death!

It’s been making the rounds this past week and now we’ve got a closer look thanks to our friends from Dragon’s Lair Comics & Fantasy. It’s the hottest new Space Marine Supplement this side of the Eye of Terror – Angels of Death:

This book is pretty much a ‘must buy’ for any Space Marine player. It combines basically all the other codex supplements (minus Blood Angels, Dark Angels & Space Wolves) into one book. So if you play a generic Space Marine force (or Imperial Fists, Salamanders, Raven Guard, White Scars or Iron Hands) or if you would like to ally with any of those chapters then you’re going to want to check this book out.

BUT WAIT – there’s more! If you haven’t heard by now, aside from all the wonderful background info on those chapters, it also has Strike Forces for each as well as new Data Sheets for the Betrayal at Calth units (Cataphractii Terminator and Contemptor Dreadnoughts). There are also tons of warlord traits, relics and tactical objectives, too.

Act now and you’ll also get to see the four brand new Psychic Power Disciples that the Marines now have access to: Librarius, Technomancy, Fulmination and Geokinesis! These are the real stars of the book…

If that wasn’t enough for you this book also contains new missions to test your mettle against as well. It’s a book full of awesomeness.

Infomercial joking aside The Angels of Death Supplement is packed full of great stuff. It’s worth a read just for the fluff and if you’re playing Space Marines its just one more tool in your toolbox to get the job done. It’s also soft back for easy transportation as well. So check it out – it’s in stores NOW!

Strike Forces of the Space Marines.

The finest warriors Mankind has ever known. Space Marines stride boldly across the galaxy, taking no prisoners, roaring benedictions to the Emperor as they cleanse planets and systems of alien filth. Each Space Marine is a genetically-engineered master of combat, sworn to perform his duty to the Emperor until victory… or death.

This 128-page softback supplement is designed for any Codex: Space Marines army. Included within:

– a guide to Strike Forces and Chapter organisation, including 4 Army List Entry datasheets and 14 Formations;
– background and organisation on White Scars, Imperial Fists, Iron Hands, Salamanders and Raven Guard Chapters, as well as their typical Strike Forces;

    Or if you’re Black Templar’s….you’re still left out in the dark. XD

    • JJ

      I thought that BT counted as a codex chapter now?

      • Drpx

        Complete with Rowboat Girlyman as their spiritual liege.

        • Commissar Molotov

          Ooo, Dorn’s gonna be mad at you.

    • Christopher Saldaña

      Yeah it sucks there’s no unique strike force for them, but at least you get all the formations and warlord traits that some Black Templar players might not have had access to or known about. Also you still get the Gladius and the new Anvil Strike forces.

      • Dumbcow1

        What BT formations are you talking about? Yes the Warlord table…that I think is still weaker than vanilla SM table except for option 1.

        • Christopher Saldaña

          All the formations. They can take every formation in the codex and the angels of death book (except librarius conclave obviously). They just don’t have a unique strike force, but they have gladius and anvil.

      Abhor the OP witch.

    “This book is pretty much a ‘must buy’ for any Space Marine player. It combines basically all the other codex supplements (minus Blood Angels, Dark Angels & Space Wolves)” – So it’s not a must buy for ANY Space Marine player, is it? 😛

    I wonder what rules lawyers are going to say about vehicles getting chapter tactics based on how the book words them now.

    • Christopher Saldaña

      I don’t think it allows vehicles to benefit from Chapter Tactics unless stated otherwise, like Iron hands which specifically says that all iron hands vehicles have “it will not die.”

      But it’s odd…now that they’re very clear the whole detachment gets the chapter special rules, now when it says “all Imperial fist models…” you could take it to mean the vehicles too, even though they don’t have chapter tactics. Silly GW, making things confusing.

      I’m saying nothing
