40K: Codex Voucher Details

If you bought a codex or the 40k rules between the 25th of February 2017 and the 22nd of April 2017 then you are going to want to check this out.

Games Workshop has announced a new edition of Warhammer 40,000. But with this announcement has also the reality that all the current codexes are going the way of the dodo bird. Fortunately, if you did purchase a codex recently, then Games Workshop has a little something special for you! I hope you kept your receipt…

“…if you’ve just bought a codex for a new army, or the rules for Warhammer 40,000 itself, in the weeks before the new edition was announced last Saturday, we’ll send you a voucher for the cost of your book. Usually, we’d do this for up to 4 weeks before the update was announced, but as we’re so excited about the new edition of Warhammer 40,000, we’ll be extending this to 8 weeks (8 weeks for the 8th edition!). And of course, you can keep your book(s).

You can claim a voucher no matter where you bought your codex and/or rulebook, as long as you have your proof of purchase and it’s dated between the 25th of February 2017 and the 22nd of April 2017.”

Now, there are quite a few different Customer Service teams working different parts of the world. If you want to apply for these vouchers you need to head to Games Workshops Contact Page HERE. Be sure to select your country of origin from the drop down on the top right if you don’t have it set already:

In all the year’s I’ve been playing GW games, I’ve NEVER heard a bad story about their Customer Support team. If you fall within that deadline reach out to them and I’m sure they will try to do what they can to help you out.

Stay Classy, GW.

That’s pretty good. Of course, I bought three codexes in January…

  • stinkoman

so if you have your receipt. im not sure i have any receipts. or do PoPs have dates on them?

    • JPMcMillen

Usually not. Those are just to prove you actually have the physical product.

  • DoctorBored

Yep, turn in all your codexes, since the next three books that will come out for 8th edition will be Space Marines, Bloody Space Marines, and Wolfy Space Marines. Rumors into 2018 include Brooding Space Marines with a Dark Secret, as well as the fan favorite, Crusading Space Marines That Are Actually A Smaller Faction of Those Yellow Space Marines.

    And then Tau.

      LOL. Funny but probably true.

  • Old zogwort

Lol why would you ever keep their receipt for a codex ?
They aren’t tax deductible ( for most of us ) and no one is expecting them to “break down”, so keeping them as a guarantee seems kinda odd.

    • JPMcMillen

If you had ordered the book online from some place you can probably get a copy of the order confirmation, I would think that would be good enough.

Unfortunately for me, the only book I ordered within the time frame was the third Gathering Storm book and as that isn’t the rulebook or an actual codex, I don’t think it qualifies. Guess it’s a good thing I held off buying the Codex’s I had been eying.

I’d say try it I think they count too and what do you have to lose?

    • DoctorBored

Some people do this thing called ‘budgeting’. Y’know, it’s that thing that adults do when they no longer get free money from their parents.

      • Garrett Alain Colas

My banks app does that for me. It’s called a smart phone. Y’know, that little glowing brick your millennial kids take pictures of food with.

“Imagine an abacus with a television screen and camera, all about the size of a pocket notebook.”

    • Morgrim

I tend to use my codex’s receipt as a bookmark until I lose the thing, and lots of people shove them into their hobby space and forget about them until the next big clean out.

  • Big Red

I want to know why banks haven’t got on board with a system where a digital copy of the receipt for any purchase you make with your card is sent to an inbox for your account. This is not difficult technology, and if someone implemented it, that would put a huge check in their column when I am looking at moving my spending account.

Receipts are evidence, as any married man will tell you. Still, it is amazing of GW to do

    • NNextremNN

lol that was a good one.

  • blackbloodshaman

Never seen GW do this. 2016 was indeed the year they realized they had competitors

Thank God I just had this sudden urge to join the hobby in March. Spent 200 of rulebook and 2 codex books for tyranids. Im a college student so starting an army is expensive but with these vouchers it’s practically a shopping spree. And always keep receipts people. I throw mine in a month envolop and then box a year together.
