Commissar Severina Raine is a Commissar of some renown and star of the new Honorbound Black Library novel–now she’s getting a fantastic new miniature which you can see right here.

Somebody better call After The Fire–their services might be needed to herald in the arrival of a fantastic new miniature and full-length novel. So let’s get ready to party like it’s 1982, because Der Commissar (Severina Raine) is in town as part of the Black Library Celebration. Let’s take a look friends!

via Warhammer Community

Commissar Severina Raine is a new Commissar who’s been put through the paces of Rachel Harrison’s short stories that take her through some of the highs and lows as life as an Imperial Commissar. You can get a good picture of not just what happens in the life of a Commissar in the 41st Millennium, but the hardships of it. How do you do your duty when you have formed bonds with the men and women in your squad? How would you survive on a world full of traitors if your transport is shot down in the midst of them? These questions and more are answered in the Severina Raine series of short stories.

In short, she’s a character with character and that makes her stories stand out amid the war-torn battlefields and high-powered heroes of the 41st Millennium. Harrison’s writing is top-notch, and she knows how to put her characters through punishing stories in a way that draws out the best (and worst) in them. If you haven’t read them, consider giving them a go, because then you’ll be acquainted with this Commissar in time for the release of her new mini and novel.

This fantastic model is your chance to add this devout Imperial hero to your collection. Her Black Library-themed box includes rules for using the resin miniature in your Astra Militarum army – and February’s White Dwarf will include the rules for using her as your Commander in games of Kill Team as well! The Raine miniature is based on the cover art for a new novel also coming for the Celebration, Rachel Harrison’s debut novel Honourbound.

This is the first full-length story to star Commissar Severina Raine, who’s become a fan favourite through Rachel’s awesome short stories. The novel sees Raine and her 11th Antari Rifles take their war with the Sighted to another level – and the cult’s machinations may expose secrets from Raine’s troubled past.

Honourbound

Commissar Severina Raine and the 11th Antari Rifles fight to subdue the spreading threat of Chaos burning across the Bale Stars. Little does Raine realise the key to victory lies in her own past, and in the ghosts that she carries with her.

READ IT BECAUSE
The hero of a series of short stories returns in her first full length novel – and it’s as grim, dark and brilliantly written as you’d expect from Rachel Harrison.

THE STORY
Uncompromising and fierce, Commissar Severina Raine has always served the Imperium with the utmost distinction. Attached to the Eleventh Antari Rifles, she instills order and courage in the face of utter horror. The Chaos cult, the Sighted, have swept throughout the Bale Stars and a shadow has fallen across its benighted worlds. A great campaign led by the vaunted hero Lord-General Militant Alar Serek is underway to free the system from tyranny and enslavement but the price of victory must be paid in blood. But what secrets do the Sighted harbour, secrets that might cast a light onto Raine’s own troubled past? Only by embracing her duty and staying true to her belief in the Imperium and the commissar’s creed can she hope to survive this crucible, but even then will that be enough?

Raine and her 11th Antari Rifles are full of the sort of character you’d expect out of a Gaunt’s Ghosts, and you can pre-order Honourbound now for a late February release.
