Hi folks. I’ve just finished up my first set of Autocannon Devastators for the Pre-Heresy Death Guard.

All the rumors breaking regarding the new Chaos codex indicate that the Nurgle forces will now be allowed to field heavy weapons. With that in mind, I’ve gone ahead and whipped up these fellows using the Forgeworld Red Scorpion Veteran pack to give them Mk.IV Maximus helmets and torsos, and have shortened and modified the Imperial Guard Autocannon to work as a shoulder mounted weapon.

I’m pretty happy with the results, and will probably be using them as “mere” Nurgle Marked (so T:5) Devastators in the new codex. They will be providing lots of heavy weapon fire to back up the actual “Plague Marine” units who will be advancing into the enemy.

My rationale is that under the new CSM codex, I will use the actual Plague Marine minis I have to represent those Death Guard who have fought for 10000 years in the Eye, while the cleaner looking loyalists with the Mark of Nurgle will represent those legionaires who have seen time pass quickly in the Eye, perhaps only percieving short weeks or months to have passed since their exile.

In any case, Mk.IV Devastators…whats not to like 😉
