PSA: A Gentle Reminder on Tone
You know, gamers have strong opinions, and we here at BoLS like a good strong opinion.
If you like an article, talk about it. Think the author is full of BS, bring it. We have no issues with discussion, and have on occasion even posted strong counter arguments offered up by some of most informed readers.
But, of late something is slightly amiss.
There has been a sharp rise very recently of increasingly nasty personal attacks in the comments. This is a time to remind everyone to take a look at this (scroll down), its the BoLS commenting rules (which haven’t changed in years).
Basically I like to run the BoLS comments like a bar. You have a good time, and getting a bit loud is great – make your opinion heard. But throw a chair, or punch a lady and you’re on the street. Regardless of rumors to the contrary in the entire history of BoLS we have banned under 20 lovely folks.
Basically, have fun, talk and be respectful, just like they taught you in school. Threatening someone with rape because you don’t agree with their opinion on toy soldiers doesn’t indicate that one is a tough guy, but rather something very different.
