Hi everybody.

The BoLS video battlereports continue. Here we have a 2,000 point Annihilation mission between Aventines Hivefleet Chupacabra and Kings’ Mantis Warriors Space Marines. Can the forces of the Emperor hold back the implacable advance of the Hive Mind once more?

Overview
These armies both seem to have a solid focus (Mech for the Space Marines, Monstrous Creatures for the Tyranids). Like usual, the Tyranids lack in the anti-tank department. When the Zoanthropes failed to destroy the Land Raider, it basically blew the best chance they had. The Tyranid player was too indecisive with his Tervigons, probably due to their lessened utility in a Kill Points mission. The Hit and Run Assault Terminator unit lead by Khan proved to be a great boon for the Marine player, as their harassment seemed to significantly disrupt the center of the board and eventually broke it.

Men of the Match

Mantis Warriors: The Tranquility Sternguard. Though mostly due to bad rolling on the Tyranids players part, the Sternguard were still able to kill a Hive Tyrant and his whole retinue in one round of shooting. They then poured in shots to finish off the Zoanthropes. Good game for the men in yellow.

Tyranids: The ‘Rocky’ Broodlord. This guy outflanked a turn too early, had all his squad members fried by the flamers of an Assault squad that came in after him, then proceeded to hold up that entire unit, almost killing all of them, rendering their Veteran Sergeant useless with his Hypnotic Gaze.
