We all know about all the Marks of Space Marine armor.  Guess which one people think is the best!

First a quick primer.  Here’s a handy chart of the marks of Space Marine armor.
Now these have been with us a LONG time.  Rogue Trader in 1987 gave birth to the “original” marine armor, retconned to be the Mk.6 Corvus suit. But Rick Priestley put down the origins of Mk1-7 (the collared Mk.8 “Errant” came years later) in the 1991 Warhammer 40,000 Compendium.
Welcome to 1991
It was our first glimpse of the Mk.1 Suit, (and the Thunder Warriors), the Mk.2 Crusade suit and all the others.  There was a limited set of miniatures made back then which are still available to this day.
The original early Mks – now in Finecast 20 years on…
It would be over 20 long years until Forgeworld began to make the early marks in bulk for Heresy collectors.
To this day, there is still a divide between the “old vets” who venerate the Mk.6  suits and the newer players who were brought up on the now mass-produced Mk.7 suits.

So 30 years on, we have 8 flavors of Space Marines to suit every player style.
The “fancypants” Mk.8
The “de facto” Mk.7
The “classic” Mk.6
The “embattled” Mk.V
The “exotic” Mk.IV
The “brutal” Mk III
The “retro” Mk.II
The “forgotten” Mk.I
 So today’s question is:
What is your favorite Mark of marine armor?
If you could have an entire army of a single one which would it be – and why?
Oh yes, take a look at what your compatriots think is the best Marine armor and drop in a vote yourself.  It certainly shocked me!
