GW Rumor Roundup 2-2-2014
It’s been a pretty hot one this week. Let’s try to catch up on this hectic rumor week on both the 40K and Fantasy sides of things.
Let’s get started with the new minis:
Dwarfs Up for Order
We got 2 Characters and a single Combo-Box of Hammerers/Longbeards
Then we got a lot of details regarding an upcoming rumored set of
Chaos Marines and Havocs
The sprue and models in question are for a new chaos space marine infantry kit. They are supposedly intended to be a replacement for the standard chaos infantry kit but also have options for chaos chosen within the kit ala the space wolves packs’ wolf guard.
Design wise the models seemed to be a mix of ornate and non ornate armour pieces. There were a number of power weapons, combi weapons and what looked to be an autocannon in plastic. I was told that hopefully their release would not be far off and would be released with a few other chaos kits.
Next we got word of GW beginning to ship off and sell off their metal inventories in
“The Great Smelt”
…truckloads containing literally metric tons of metal miniatures have pulled away from GW HQ, headed for a date with a furnace. The entire stock is to be smelted down and sold off on the metals markets.
Word on a purported Ork vs Blood Angel boxed set coming later in the year:

Rules Summary: Updated Mini-rulebook contains FAQs, minor tweaks and clarifications, and much of Stronghold Assault rolled into a new shiny package.
And then we get a rumored peek at this year with 40k/WFB schedules for:
January – Tyranids (Out)
February – Dwarfs (Sighted in the weekly White Dwarf cover)
March – Imperial Knights (Supported with White Dwarf and Dataslate rules support)
June / July – Orks, Warhammer 40,000 “not 7th” book
July / August – Warhammer Fantasy 9th (book, boxed set, supplement – unknown details)
November – WFB Army (Bretonnia getting the most chatter)
December – Hobbit – Holiday Bundles
