Warhammer 40,000 Conquest – The Great Devourer Unboxing
The Great Devourer, a deluxe expansion for Warhammer 40,000 Conquest, has arrived – Let’s take a swim in the spawning pool!
Hey BoLS Readers, AdamHarry back with more Warhammer 40,000 Conquest coverage. While we were at GenCon we snagged a copy of the new The Great Devourer Deluxe Expansion from Fantasy Flight Games. Check out our sneak peak here:
This box is packed full of new cards to help you consume all the bio-mass you can as the Tyranid Faction! And if you’re not a Tyranid player there are cards for all the other factions to help you deal with the on-coming Hive Fleets.
The Great Devourer introduces Tyranid specific mechanics like the new Synapse Creatures (which function like a second warlord) and the Infestation mechanic which can buff the effects of your cards. They also have ways to generate Termagant Token cards which are cheap 1/1 creatures that can be buffed by other cards in your deck making them very dangerous in large amounts…
A new horror approaches. Their numbers are legion. Their hunger is as boundless as space itself. Their only goal is to devour and destroy until the galaxy is lifeless and dead. Now, they have come to the Traxis sector.Subscribe to our newsletter!Get Tabletop, RPG & Pop Culture news delivered directly to your inbox.
The Great Devourer is the first deluxe expansion for Warhammer 40,000: Conquest, and it introduces a brand-new faction: the Tyranids! Two Tyranids warlords lead these horrific creatures into battle, each offering a very different play style. In addition to these warlords and their signature squads, you’ll find a host of new units, supports, events, and attachments to aid the Tyranids, including an entirely new type of unit, the synapse unit. The Tyranids aren’t the only ones to benefit from this expansion, however. Every other faction must make its stand against the Great Devourer in the Traxis sector, and brand-new unique characters help them to battle the Tyranid threat.
It’s a whole new way to play Warhammer 40,000 Conquest! If you’re interested in getting started you will want to pick up the Conquest Core Set. We also did an unboxing of that as well:
AND Fantasy Flight Games also created an excellent gameplay tutuorial which you can watch to get a better feel for the game:
