Today is Memorial Day, and across the United States between the manic vacations, and shopping sprees, one can still find information on its origin and meaning.
Enjoy a safe holiday to our US readers, and here is one of my favorite poems to mark the day, lest we forget the sacrifices by those who have gone before us.

~This is an open thread for your personal remembrances of those servicemen and women who gave their lives for their nation – and us. Please share your memories of who you remember and why.
