The Tabletop Spotlight is on Index Imperialis: Apocrypha!

Games Workshop’s fancy new “coffee table” art book is out and the Index Imperialis: Apocrypha is one heck of a nostalgia trip! Dragon’s Lair Comics & Fantasy brought one over and we take a quick look inside:

This book is a great collection of rules and articles from the early days of Games Workshop – and the Imperium! You’ll get to read up on the Rogue Trader accounts of the Emperor, the old history of the Imperial Guardsmen, the early days of the Legio Cyerbnetica and much more. It’s a pretty great book to add to your collection just because it’s a repackaging of some classic Warhammer 40,000 history…and then some.

I really liked the Necromunda sections and of course the look back at all the Titan stuff. Talk about memories! This book is packed with all that old Jon Blanche and Jes Goodwin artwork, too. If you’ve never seen it – those pieces ARE the roots of Warhammer. It’s amazing to see the early stuff and how far we’ve come collectively.

If you’re looking for a last minute gift for the 40k fan in your life then I’d highly recommend this book. It’s a great look back at the early days and it makes me hopeful for the next 30 years of Warhammer!
