Games Workshop has a new FAQ for Gathering Storm II. Time to hit the books!

via Warhammer Community

It’s fair to say that the recent Gathering Storm II: Fracture of Biel-Tan shook things up a fair bit.

As well as some pretty seismic progressions in the Warhammer 40,000 narrative, it also gave players of Eldar armies of all types a fundamentally different way to use their armies.

Since the book’s release, with such major changes to the way that three whole armies can be used, we’ve had a few questions sent in, and our studio rules team have the answers for you in a new FAQ covering some of the more unusual rules interactions from the Strength from Death rule in particular. A lot of the questions stem from Strength from Death and how that interacts with the turn structure. The Errata clears up some of the questions on timing, particularly close-combat, initiatives and charges. It’s good that they answered these questions as it helps the game turn “flow” correctly now.

The FAQ also goes into more detail on When Soulburst can be used and How to correctly use Soulburst. Another fun FAQ question and precedent is how models with multiple factions work. The example used is a Transport with the Eldar/Ynnari Factions. There are lots of little tweaks and clarifications to this FAQ that help to clear-up some of those sticky situations. One more example is what happens when opposing Ynnari players trigger a Strength from Death action at the same time?

This is a pretty solid FAQ and I’m glad to see this out now – it’s been a fairly quick turn around from printing the book to FAQ. Nice work GW…
