More changes in the ninth hour for Justice League – and for the Extended Universe moving forward.

When I think of the sound of Batman, the theme, my brain automatically pulls up Elfman’s theme from the 1989… Keaton is my batman. I watched both of Burton’s Batman movies into the ground in middle school.

Yesterday it was announced that Snyder collaborator Junkie XL (he scored BvS and Man of Steel) is out…

It seems that Joss Whedon – who has taken over for Zack Snyder – wants to bring something different (and perhaps familiar) to Justice League, and has brought Danny Elfman in to score the movie just as reshoots go into full swing. It’s not the first time the director and composer have worked together. Elfman added on to Brian Tyler’s score for Age of Ultron.

I have no idea at this point what kind of movie we’re going to get in November.

In a recent interview with The Wrap DC studio head Geoff Johns (left) had this to say about where the DC Extended Universe is heading:

“Get to the essence of the character and make the movies fun. Just make sure that the characters are the characters with heart, humor, hope, heroics, and optimism at the base.”

This came after Wonder Woman’s box office success and acclaim. Maybe they’re starting to understand that gritty darkness for gritty darkness’ sake isn’t the best approach.
