These time lapse videos of sculptor Steven Richter at work show what goes in to turning clay into a beloved character.
Steven Richter works for Tom Spina Designs – they make props for movies, museums, theme parks, etc – as a sculptor. He specializes in scuplted portraits and wax museum style figures; he also does casting and mold making.
Recently he’s shared some of his work as time lapse videos. It’s amazing to watch a lump of clay be turned into a recognizable character.
A Chewie bust he created with the help of a curling iron.
He also makes fantastic looking props – like this Jumaji game board.
I hope he’ll share more of theses behind the scenes videos in the future.
What do you think of these projects?
