Giant ‘Azul’ Now On Pre-order is Literally Twice As Big

Azul follows in the footsteps of Tom Hanks in ‘Big’, Daryl Hannah in ‘Attack of the 50ft Woman’ and Molly Ringwald’s confidence in ‘Sixteen Candles’.

Azul is a competitive tile playing game which has been supremely popular since its release last year. If you don’t know Azul, it was recently nominated for Speil des Jahres. If you don’t know what Speil des Jahres is, I don’t really blame you. It’s pretty niche, despite what everyone in the board gaming world will tell you. It’s a game of the year award and Azul was nominated.

To celebrate this, publisher Next Move Games decided to go big. And by that I mean they plan to make a giant version of Azul. As something of a Texan myself, I can appreciate the ‘bigger is better mentality’.

The updated version of the game is twice as big as the original with the same quality components.

The pre-order campaign is going on right now and if they can secure 500 orders before June 22, the plan to release this monster will go forward. Otherwise, the idea is scrapped. They expect about a 5-6 month delivery timeline if things go well.

Overall, if you’re a fan of Azul, this is a collector’s item you’re not going to want to miss. And if you’re not a fan of Azul and have a good amount of expendable income, this could be a good conversation piece. But also, I recommend you check out the standard version. Azul is a fantastic abstract tile-placement game that deserves all the praise it receives.

Azul Giant edition – 200% larger version than the retail version of the game. Game is housed in a custom designed suitcase with removable storage trays and neoprene player mats.

This is a preorder campaign that is contingent on receiving a minimum of 500 preorders by June 22, 2018. If this goal is not met, refunds will be issued shortly after. If the goal is met, the production to warehouse delivery timeline is approximately 5-6 months.
