That’s right folks, Kill Team is coming–so grab your gear, and get ready to infiltrate and take out your enemy, because the release date is, as the announcement says, sooner than you’d think.
Kill Team is coming! This one is pretty exciting folks, Kill Team has been a long time coming. If you’re like me, you’ve been anticipating it since Shadow War Armageddon (which kind of stealth previewed a little of what 8th Edition was kind of going to be like). And now it’s here.

And closer than you might think means later this month. If I had to hazard a guess, I’d say in 2-3 weeks. Most likely two–we’ll probably see the release of all the new Starter Sets for Age of Sigmar, ride out the launch for another week or so and then we’re coming to a head with the launch of the new Shadespire and Blood Bowl, with Kill Team sitting solidly mid month.
Which probably means we’ll start seeing more 40K come trickling in towards the end of the month–GW has been keeping up a pretty solid release schedule. Which is great–especially since this iteration of it looks to be capitalizing on a lot of what makes 8th Edition fast and fun and deadly. Which, whatever your opinions about it in the base game are–this framework/philosophy lends itself well to narrative/quick and dirty skirmish campaigns.
It’s a lot to look forward to–the game features a lot of customization, whether it’s your squad, your leader, the specialists within it–it really scratches the narrative/squad-based itch.
Kill Team involves every faction in the game, so whatever army you’ve decided to throw your lot in with, you’ll be able to take part. This is the one place in 40K where all of the factions get their chance at the spotlight, instead of seeing who’ll be paired up against the Imperium this time.
The game supports multiple playstyles. If you want some heavy hitters with heavier weapons, or decide you prefer a little more elegant, up-close-and-personal asssassination types, you’ll find those models. And of course, it’s a great excuse to bust out the sector mechanicum terrain, whatever shape it’s taken for you.
So get out there and prep your kill team folks–we’ll of course be taking you through the game when it comes out, so stay tuned for more news as it drops.
