There’s a new HQ Techpriest in town for you Mechanicus players, and he’s got a lot of helping hands!

Balphamus Vaulk is hitting the tabletops this weekend, for both Kill Team and Warhammer 40k. Let’s take a look at that this great looking mini brings in the rules department:

Kill Team

Vaulk has a solid statline. In the offense department, you have to choose between the “flamer” Transonic Cannon, and the potent Magnarail Cannon. but if a crafty opponent can keep the Manipulus moving the Cannon’s damage potential drops off. In Melee the combination of the Staff and Mechadendrites makes him solid.

He’s 102 pts base, and his can use his signature Galvanic Pulse to give all his nearby friendlies a little 1″ kick in the pants.

40K

The Manipulus slots in as a midrange HQ sitting inbetween the budget Enginseer and the pricy Dominus. coming in at 90pts he fits the bill nicely.

Vaulk has a solid statline. In the offense department, you have to choose between the “flamer” Transonic Cannon, and the much more potent Magnarail Cannon, if you stat still. In Melee the combination of the Staff and Mechadendrites makes him solid.

What I really like is his Batman utility belt that allows the Manipulus to not only repair units via the expected Master of Machines rules, but the choice of increasing movement and run rolls, or increasing weapon ranges.

All in all, a very useful and mid-priced HQ.  I expect the Manipulus to be a popular choice in Mechanicus armies moving forward.
