Dungeons & Dragons is a cooperative storytelling game that harnesses your imagination and invites you to explore a fantastic world of adventure, where heroes battle monsters, find treasures, and overcome quests. The D&D Essentials Kit is a new introductory product meant to bring D&D to audiences interested in jumping into a fantasy story.
This box contains the essentials you need to run a D&D game with one Dungeon Master and one to five adventurers. A newly designed rulebook on-boards players by teaching them how to make characters, and the included adventure, Dragon of Icespire Peak, introduces a new 1-on-1 rules variant.
The new Essentials Kit will be available on June 24th at Target, but will be available everywhere else on September 3rd. But that’s not all–there’s also been a new Rick-and-Morty-themed adventure in the works, following the success of the comics.
The world’s greatest roleplaying game meets television’s most dysfunctional family! What could possibly go wrong? Coming this fall, D&D has partnered with Adult Swim to bring this boxed set blending the world of Dungeons & Dragons with the mad narcissistic genius of Rick Sanchez’s power-gaming sensibilities, and it includes everything a Dungeon Master needs to channel their inner mad scientist and run a rickrolling adventure for up to 5 players, levels 1 to 3.
The next two Young Adventurer’s Guides have also been informed. Joining Weapons and Warriors and Monsters and Creatures you’ll find Wizards and Spells and Dungeons and Tombs. These books will help introduce the worlds of D&D to younger readers, offering up an illustrated look at some of the concepts of the game while introducing the game in general.
This introductory guide to the worlds of the leading fantasy role-playing game provides an immersive illustrated primer to the enchanted beings, magic-users, and spells of D&D.
In this illustrated guide for new players, you’ll be transported to the mystic and magical worlds of Dungeons & Dragons and given a one-of-a-kind course on the wizards, sorcerers, and other magic-makers for which the game (and all of its iterations) is known. Featuring direct and entertaining explanations of how spells are created and used in game, along with original illustrations and archival images of the game’s essential magical characters, this book shines a spotlight on the mystical side of D&D. The perfect jumping-on point for young fans of fantasy looking to give D&D a try, the book also features prompts to encourage creative problem-solving skills in the dangerous situations that you may find yourself in when on D&D adventures.
