Games Workshop teased some more info about the Sisters of Silence – and the Agents of the Imperium. Turns out they are kind of strange in Apocalypse.

When it comes to the Imperium as a faction, they certainly aren’t lacking for unit options. In Apocalypse, the Agent’s of the Imperium function as a catch-all faction that includes a lot of the leftovers that are unique but don’t quite fit into other factions. Some of these groups are quite large – but not big enough to warrant their own entire sub-faction. Anyhow, today we’re going to take a look at what the Agents of the Imperium have access to – and it’s a strange mix of units for sure.

Sisters of Silence

Kicking off our list we have the Sisters of Silence. They have 3 different variations of Infantry options and a Null-Maiden Rhino. As a mini-sub-faction their Infantry units all come with the dreaded Psychic Abominations rule. You can see the rest of their units in the Agents of the Imperium Datasheets, but here are the Witchseekers as an example:

Comparable to a Tactical Marine Squad – only they are much better vs Psykers.

And if you include any Sisters of Silence units in your force, you can also but out the Command Asset Psychic Abominations too:

House of Assassins

The Imperial Assassins are also included in the Agents of the Imperium. This should really suprise anyone as that has been their home for a while – but what will a lone assassin do in Apoc? Mess with stuff!

All the Assassins come with a couple of standard rules – Deep Strike and Independent Operative. Deep Strike is pretty self-explanatory. Independent Operative just means they cannot be a warlord option. Further more, they are all Characters as well. Each one also clocks in at 6 Power Rating so they should be able to slot in nicely in an open Elite Slot in your army.

Each assassin also has a special rules of their own. The Vindicare Assassin, as an example, has Deadshot which allows a re-roll of wound rolls for ranged attacks made by the assassin.

The Inquisition

The Inquisition also sits nicely in the Agents of the Imperium list. And it’s a who’s-who of fan favorites and returning Inquisitors.

Named Inquisitors like Greyfax, Eisenhorn, Karamazov and Coteaz all make an appearance. You’ve also got your “generic” Inquisitors too.

The Inquisition has a pretty wide assortment of strange units to choose from as well. There are your typical units like Acolytes and Inquisitorial Retinues. But you then get some of the more archaic options like Jokaero Weaponsmiths and my favorite – the Daemonhosts:

Rogue Traders & Blackstone Fortress Explorers

The Elucidian Starstriders are back with their leader Elucia Vhane. They are a strange mix of models and options. I don’t know if I’d field them in an Apoc game personally, but hey – if you got the models GW has your back!

It’s not that they are bad options – it’s just…weird. Although the more I think about it, they could be perfect for a Narrative-Apocalypse Hybrid game…

Do you want to run with your Blackstone Fortress Explorers? Well you can! Janus Draik and his crew of misfits is ready for your Apocalypse games.

Combined, it’s 13 Power Rating and it’s full of flavor. If you like the taste of Blackstone anyhow…

They have some strange weapons at least to keep them interesting. I would have like to have seen some type of bonus or synergy for running them both together. Ah well.

If you happened to pick-up Combat Arena you’re also in luck because Murad’s Blackstone Fortress Explorers are also available to play in Apoc – weird, right?

On top of all these orphan units, you can bet GW is tossing in a few random Command Assets for these selections as well. We’ve only gotten a tease of the Sisters of Silence so far. I’m very curious to see what GW has come up with for them.

Well, that’s if for these random Imperial Agents. If you got the models, GW’s got the rules!
