Come join the BoLS Crew as we take you through the new Core Book for Age of Sigmar: Warcry.

Warcry is up for Pre-Order this weekend, and we’ve got the Core Book in our grubby mitts and/or meathooks, depending on which horrifying metaphor for hands you prefer. The book is fairly thick, but what’s interesting is that you won’t find the rules or points values for your different factions inside–but you will find a rules for all the different ways you can play the game. So come check it out.

As we’ve seen before, Warcry is a fast-paced skirmish game that takes place over the course of a few quick rounds. You’ll set up a board–and depending on the mode you’re playing, you’ll put together terrain according to a card–and then from there it’s smashing your miniatures headlong into each other in the hopes that you’ll win out in the end.

What’s really fun are the different Campaign Quests you’ll find hidden inside. This is probably one of the biggest chunks of the book, as the game is fairly streamlined and the rules are presented simply over a few pages, much like the Age of Sigmar basic rules. But instead of unit lists–those you’ll find in the Warcry warband cards–you’ll find story quests for each of the factions–including all nine of the non-Chaos warbands, as well as the two new Warbands, Scions of Flame and the Spire Tyrants; so there’s a story mission for each one of the Warbands to play through.

You’ll also find battleplans and terrain rules to help fill out your tabletop, so no matter which mode of play you’re going for, you’ll have no limit to the replayability of the game as you bring it good and proper.

What do you think of the new core book?
