Games Workshop is has shown off the two new Beastgrave Warbands but are they teasing even more for Age of Sigmar?

With Beastgrave on the horizon Games Workshop is showcasing the miniatures for the two new warbands included in the boxed set. We want to take a closer look at those warbands and see what clues GW is teasing for the future of Age of Sigmar. So let’s dive in!

via Warhammer Community

“Both warbands – Grashrak’s Despoilers and Skaeth’s Wild Hunt – are cast in coloured plastic and require no glue to assemble. Just clip them out, click them together and you’re all set.”

Grashrak’s Despoilers

First up, we’re taking a look at the new Beastmen models. This is the best image we’ve seen of their bare plastic so far. Aside from being great, new sculpts these models are showcasing a couple of possible future units for the Beastmen of AoS. For starters, this set features an all new plastic Great Bray-Shaman – the first ever designed specifically for the Mortal Realms. We also see brand new plastic Ungors and a Bestigor.

This is kind of a big deal! The Beastmen did get a new Battletome as well as a new Braystone and Endless Spells – but these are the first new plastic Beastmen for the range! Could GW be teasing a Beastmen book 2.0 on the way? Perhaps with some new plastic Ungors, Bestigors, and perhaps a new Great Bray-Shaman? I wouldn’t be surprised – but the bare minimum would be to have this warband get a unit warscroll for use in Age of Sigmar.

Skaeth’s Wild Hunt

While the Beastmen might be a indirectly hinted at, GW just flat out says it’s a new thing for the Skaeth’s Wild Hunt. Check this out:

“For the Kurnothi, we’ve had our first look at what seems to be a brand new race in the Mortal Realms…”

Kurnothi? Hmm…what do you supposed that could be? We’ve heard long ago that Light Aelves and Shadow Aelves were in the works. We’ve even seen them hinted at in the lore from the Daughters of Khaine book (pg. 8 if you’re wondering). But these Aelves are neither “luminous beings and angelic creatures” or “something darker, something majestic and terrible at the same time.”

The Kurnothi, however, seem to have roots back with the older Wood Elves. The classic Wardancers and wild hunters from the World That Was. However, they are different. If you look at their legs, they are certainly more “fawn-like” that their previous incarnations. It’s going to be VERY interesting to see where these Kurnothi hail from and how they view the Sylvaneth and specifically Alarielle the Everchosen.

I’m looking forward to checking out the lore behind the Beastgrave release. This one promises to update some of the more mysterious parts of the Mortal Realms. We know Cities of Sigmar and the Ironjaws are coming. We know the Ossiarch Bonereapers are coming and all that is slated before/around October. It’s a great time to be playing AoS!

So what do you think about these new releases? Are we going to see more Beastmen/Wood Aelves in the future?
