Someone has converted everyone’s favorite Skeksis into 5th Edition’s rules, and we think you’ll find that the statblock is perfect, mmm?

The Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance is a fantastic series, now streaming on Netflix. Its fantasy-and-puppet-fueled adventure is one that has folks rediscovering their love of weird worlds and homebrewed settings. If you’re playing D&D or other fantasy role-playing games, then this is a great place to mine for inspiration. You could steal its themes of resistance, of struggles against evil–or as I’ve done, steal its aesthetics and the overall tone. There’s politics and puppets and none can argue that the creatures featured in the show are a perfect fit for D&D.

Pretty sure I’ve played that character

The Skeksis are a perfect fit for D&D, especially given D&D’s love of birdpeople, with Aarakocra and Kenku being only two modern examples. The earlier editions are littered with them. It seems only natural that the Skeksis might show up in some campaign as scheming villains and conquerors. Now, the fine folks over at WebDM have done the hard work for you. They’ve converted the Skeksis Chamberlain into a 5th Edition template that is, without a doubt, one of the best adaptations we’ve ever seen.
