The Largest (Accidental) Dice Roll in History

Last Friday – yes, this happened on Friday 13th –  the folks from Trivium Studios were hauling three pallets of Chessex dice.  The driver took a turn a bit too hard on Interstate 75… and 216,000 D6s were thrown all over the road. The Atlanta Highway Emergency Response Operators (the HEROs mention in the video) helped the employees salvage what they could with brooms, shovels, and buckets.

Almost equal to the dice used in an average Shadowrun game.

They did a bit of math and calculated the total roll amount…

“… based on the probability that most two-dice rolls average out to 7, we statistically rolled around a 756,000! And the last dice picked up was a 6.”

The dice were to be included in a board game release next year. Hopefully, they’ll be able to recover in time and maybe invest in a covered truck next time.
