Each Jumpstart pack has a singular theme. Mix any two together and BAM! You got yourself a new deck.
Wizards of the Coast has announced new way to start your jump into Magic – Jumpstart. Each 20-card booster pack of Jumpstart is set to a certain theme. Some are more direct, like Goblin, Unicorns or Wall; while others are more thematic like Garruk, Phyrexian or even Doctor.
Grab any two packs, shuffle them together and you got a fully functional deck! If you’re a fan of Smash Up, this may be of some interest to you.
The theme of each booster pack is randomized, and will contain a card noting the theme. Most themes have multiple variations, allowing 121 possible 20-card lists inside any given pack.
Jumpstart will introduce 37 brand new cards, which will be legal in Eternal formats (Legacy, Vintage and Commander). Additionally, you can expect almost 500 reprints from previous sets! Jumpstart will share a lot of content with the 2021 Core Set.
But most importantly, in my opinion, every pack includes a basic land with art that will match the theme of the pack. Some will use thematically appropriate art from 2021 Core, but most will be brand new art, just for Jumpstart.
Expect to see a Jumpstart Prerelease June 20-21, with the full release on July 3rd.

What two themes would you mix?
I’m hoping for Mutant Ninjas. Cowabunga!
