In the latest Psychic Awakening Lore the Space Wolves have visions of Ghazghkull fighting Ragnar Blackmane!

The next Chapter of Psychic Awakening is coming next month with Saga of the Beast and we’re starting to get an even clearer pictures of our combatants. We already knew that Ghaz was coming with a new model (along with Makari). Perhaps that is the only new model for the book. But what if it’s not…

Anyhow, we also got the nod that Space Wolves are going to be squaring off against the Green Tide. This was further confirmed by the new short story from Dirk Wehner The Feast.

Read The Feast HERE

We’re going to be talking about this new story so go read it first and come back – consider this your Spoiler Warning.

Still with us? Okay, here we go.

The Story takes place in a feasting hall of the Space Wolves. They have just returned from a battle against the Orks in the Javarian Sub-sector. Great Wolf Logan Grimnar is there listening and feasting with this fellow Space Wolves. It seems like this is a welcomed respite from trials and tribulations they had experienced. Plus, it’s a victory celebration – so it’s a happy occasion for them.

But then one of the old Rune Priest has a strange distressing look on his face. This is Alvari Gloomwolf and he’s the one brings a vision of woe to an otherwise fun party.

Now, you really should check out the rest of the story. It’s got that “soothsayer visits the viking mead hall and warns of a battle” vibe. Towards the end of the story, there is one paragraph in particular that jumps out:

‘But where fear raises its head, there is also defiance,’ the Rune Priest shouted, spreading his arms. ‘The black wolf comes forth from the darkness of his lair. His strike will be rash, but it will draw blood. The green king and the black wolf will meet, and there upon the precipice of death shall they do battle unto its very ragged brink. The wolf has not howled its last breath. The green king awaits. Destiny awaits!’

The Black Wolf is Ragnar Blackmane. This is confirmed by Logan Grimnar himself. The Green King is the leader of the Orks and we the reader know that is a direct reference to Ghazgkhull Mag Uruk Thraka!

As a side note, it’s also kind of telling that GW also had an article released today that featured Ghaz’s Grudges and the Space Wolves were listed. They also just happened to use this artwork for the Space Wolves section:

Oh look, it’s Ragnar Blackmane. And he’s fighting Orks. That’s probably a coincidence, right?

So we’ve got a story referring to Ragnar and Ghaz facing off. And then we’ve got another nod that Ghaz has a bone to pick with Space Wolves (represented by Ragnar Blackmane). Gee…I wonder what’s going to happen.

If I had to guess, based on the text above, Ragnar is going to fight Ghaz and they are going to go toe-to-toe. Unfortunately for Blackmane, it doesn’t end well for him. I think he’s going to injure Ghaz but at the same time get mortally wounded. That’s probably going to lead to him undergoing the Primaris Protocol so GW can retire and redo his old model.

Yep. This is all a giant setup so GW can create a new Ragnar Blackmane model as a Primaris Marine. I’m calling it now and I’m actually really hoping it’s true. Here’s hoping the Youngest Wolf Lord survives the jump…
