It was only a matter of time – the Young Wolf Lord’s Datasheet has been revealed on the interwebs. Check it out!

After Ghaz and Makari’s data sheets dropped we had a feeling Ragnar wasn’t far behind. Now we have a look at this datasheet from Prophecy of the Wolf, too.

Stat-wise, Ragnar is certainly a Primaris Character. Frostfang is looking gnarly with +2 strength, -4 AP and 2 Damage. With 7 attacks that’s a possible 14 damage – Not too shabby! Here’s the rest of his abilities:

  • Battlelust: When a friendly Space Wolves unit within 6″ of this model and not within 3″ of an enemy unit consolidates, it can move up to 6″ instead of 3″.
  • War Howl: You can re-roll charge rolls made for friendly Space Wolves units (other than Vehicle units) if they are within 6″ of this model when the roll is made.
  • Jarl of Fenris: Re-roll hit rolls of 1 for attacks made by models in friendly Space Wolves units whilst their unit is within 6″ of this model.
  • Berserker Rage: When this model is affected by the Shock Assault ability, add 3 to the Attacks characteristic of this model instead of 1.
  • Belt of Russ: This model has a 4+ invulnerable save.

Well now – Berserker Rage bumps his potential damage up to 20 by adding 3 attacks and he’s re-rolling 1s to hit as well. Much like his old-self, Ragnar is built for getting folks into combat and swinging away at the enemy!

He’s going to be a pretty scary combatant for sure. Vs another squad of Primaris Marines, he’s got a good shot at ripping through a majority of them. So how does he stack-up vs Ghazghkull in the Brawl of the Beasts? Unfortunately for him – it doesn’t look great.

Having seen this sheet and also Ghaz’s – it’s pretty clear the Ork has the advantage in a straight-up duel. There are two pretty factors in Ghaz’s favor.

  • Base 5 attacks with 4 flat damage.
  • Ghaz only takes 4 wounds per phase.

In a 1v1 situation, Ragnar has to survive for a minimum of 3 rounds of close-combat to kill Ghaz. That’s not great. And Ghaz only has to get 2 attacks with his Klaw through to drop Ragnar. I hope his 4+ invulnerable holds out…

But hey – they aren’t fighting in a vacuum, right? There are other forces at work and the psychic/shooting phases to play out, too!

You’ll be able to play this one out yourself soon enough. Prophecy of the Wolf is going up for Pre-Order this weekend!
